How do you "Display"?

For the regular store ponies, I organize them by release and group… so I have all my year 1s together… then year 2…year 3, etc.

I organize all my mail order together by release group— so for example, all TAF babies are together, all pearly babies are together, etc.). My petites are also all set together separately with the little houses and castle.

I think the only ones I have on a separate shelf area are my sea ponies and shells and floats.

I only collection G3 so my collection is by release time. But I have all the SDCC and special ponies together. All out of box.

I have my favorites scattered throughout different levels of my desk. It's messy, but keeps them in my sight all of the time. When I start working again, I plan on getting some new furnishings, a display for ponies included!

I don't have them displayed by generation or anything, although the bulk of what I have is G3.

By generation, first. The G1s and G3s are then arranged loosely by theme (food, tropical, flutters, etc.) The G2s and G4s are arranged in among their playsets in diorama style. This is because I have fewer of them, so they get less shelf space and this is the most practical use of space.

I have one home-made shelving unit (That is the large white Shadow box) and 2 Multimedia shelving units that support to hold Blu rays and CDs oh and one cube shelf thing. I'm running out of space but I'll need extra storage containers for my closet or buy some more Blu ray units in my closet for later down the road. These are not the Updated pics for I now have 38 Basic Fun ponies stacked on top of each other, Graffiti G3 pony is on top MIB of Pop Art Exclusive, & I have some G4.5s and some G5s now.

i don't quite have my ponies displayed how i'd like yet, lol they're all strewn around my desk atm my room is just not big enough- when we move early next year I'd love to start up my display in the new room.

colored bookshelves & floating shelves, with g3's sorted by color i'm thinking, or maybe i'll alternate them. the more important ones will definitely be displayed up higher! (like my SDCC 2007 Superhero pony, and any other higher value/rare g3's). and if i have room i'd love to make some little "scenes" i guess

for merch stuffs, i might have those hang on the wall nearby. i have the apple backpack from applejacks picnic set & i spotted a really cute wallet online that i might buy (it has a strap)

also, if there is a window in the room, DEFINITELY not having my display face it. i'd be sad if any of my ponies started to get faded or have other complications bc of that simple mistake

They were mine too! But lately I don't feel the love in them as much anymore though as I do with ponies.

If you have your G3s sorted by color and a bookshelf or multimedia is colored the same color; the pony may get lost in the background. I wonder how a group of ponies of one color would look like with a complimentary color for the background? or the ponies could be the complimentary color of the Background I wonder how this would work? I guess if it don't turn out right the first time you could always repaint it. But its a very good Idea to have your important ones up higher.

I think they compliment each other (even if white is not a color) so Pink ponies have a white shelf and white ponies have a pink shelf

Mine got booted back into storage so that I could use the shelves for guitar / art books... but when I was actively displaying, they were organized by gen and color.
