I thought I'd try this just for the heck of it. I wrapped poor, grubby, brown Suprise in a think towel, stuck her in a lingerie bag, poured a bit of bleach and laundry detergent in, and set it to wash.
I pulled her out thinking I've probably washed all her flocking off or something, and she came out beautiful!
The only thing that was a problem was that her mane and tail were a rat's nest when she came out. But aside from that, it seems to be an easy and good way to wash So Softs. I can't believe I didn't try this before now! And she smells April Showers fresh!
How does everyone else clean their So Softs?

I soak mine's bad spots in Dawn for a few hours and wash them in the sink. That gets out most any stain. I didnt know you could put them in the washer. I'll have to try that.

Interesting...I should have done that when I had a dozen dirty so softs I had to clean. I hate cleaning those by hand, lol.

Interesting. I'm doing laundry tomorrow, I'll toss some of mine in there and see what happens.

yes, make sure you put them in something, a pillowcase will work as well...otherwise the eyes will scratch..

I'll put them in a pillowcase. I'll try to post results tomorrow, lol.

Yeah, I have the ones with zippers, they're pillow protectors.
I also have a laundry bag for delicate clothes that has a zipper on it.
*the ponies are hiding in a dark corner of the pony room* hahahah!!

I must try that!!

And guys, you can hold the pillowcase close with a hair scrunchie :p I used to wash my stuffed animals all the time like that.

Remember though, don't stick them in the dryer! :p

I find that the washing machine gets them quite clean, but their hair is not all that nice after so I use shampoo and conditioner. But also I have had problems with water in the ponies bodies and have to try and drain them out and if you don't get it all out it goes moldy. :(
I think I would stick to using the mr clean magic eraser on all ponies but the so softs, and just put the so softs in the washing machine.

hmm i'm going to have to try this on a few of my ratty SS's!!!

we'll use the gentle cycle LOL
