I have sooo...gotta quit scaring myself like that! "Like what?!" you may ask. Well, I got off work and on the way out of the building, I could not remember whether I had turned off the stove for the soup I was going to have, but didn't. I was very much frightened that I had burned down the house in my absence (we have a natural gas powered stove). Well, about 20 minutes later, several red lights, and gratuitous speeding, I discovered (to my extreme relief!!!) that I had indeed turned off the stove before leaving for work this morning.
My hands are *still* shaking!

Wow! I'm glad things are OK. :)

I used to have anxiety about if I'd locked the house up. I'd be anxious 'til I got home. What I do now is, I slowly close the door, watch myself lock up, then give the door a "shake" before I leave. It keeps me mindful and stops the anxiety. :)

Oh gosh that sounds like something I would do!

We don't have a gas-powered stove (thank goodness) and we have actually left the stove on low without realizing it. x_____x Things were fine by the time I finally noticed the burners were left on. :surprisepony:

I could easily see myself doing that. I scare myself that way all the time. Nothing as drastic as that, though. :surprisepony:
Glad everything's alright, though :)

It's not just me then! Omg I do that alllllllll the time! Did I leave the iron on, did I leave my curling iron on, did I turn the stove off......

My latest one is every evening, did I lock the bunny away!? I have a big bunny who has full use of the back yard (she's a guard bunny-no seriously!) but I put her away on a night time in the kennel (otherwise she causes all sorts of mischief when it gets dark.......vampire bun???) :surprisepony:
I have to rattle the door several times to ensure myself I've put her away and then when I get to the house I call her so she pops her head out so I double check she is in there. I'm sooooo paranoid it's unreal! (I guess I just don't want another visit from the neighbours saying my bunny was tormenting their pug all night:rollingeyes:)

Here's a pic of her when she was a little baby chasing cats (thought It might make you chuckle.......and also see why I'm filled with anxiety that she needs to be locked away!)

You and me both, girl! I get it from my mother "Are you sure we closed the garage door?" "We close the garage door, right?"

"Did we turn the stove off?"

"Did we remember to unplug the toaster?"

Heh! I've done the same thing myself! I stewed all through a flight not knowing whether I'd turned off the stove and realised it while I was up up in the air away! As soon as we landed I had to call a neighbour, walk them through breaking into my home, only to find out that yes. I had indeed turned it off.

Still, I would've died of stress had I not had someone check! Some of my critters were in there and I couldn't wait till nightfall till my sister went to feed them.

I'm too old for the stress!
