Lol I will be honest I cast my vote for that one! I could never make something like that. How do you even make a pattern for that! Too cool!
Aw now I want to watch g1 pony stuft even more if it's got villians (if the flume is one) heard it didnt have as many, where can I watch g1 stuff. I have acces to hbo, Netflix and YT is there any on any of those or another free platform?
Yay! now I can tell you how I made it!!!
First I started with three triangles useing my crochet friend, crafty kitty's, cat ear pattern as a base and modifying the pattern so that it had the right shape on the bottom.
Then for the feet I went on to youtube and found an ugly 4 leaf clover pattern that I had to modify by removing one stitch off of every step, and then crochet around the edges for that bubbled look!
For the neck I made a chain closed the loop and went around and around a piece of stiff wire using a puff stitch decreasing the number of stiches halfway to the top, then to finish I did a double crochet and decreased the opening closed, then I made a chain going up and out from the base of the head and went up and down that chain all the way around the head fastening it to my head peace as I went, then I folded that round blanket type mass over, like making a crochet donut and sewed that in to place.
Then I couldn't find a satisfying puff stitch for my orange barnacles, so I made one up on the fly, the pattern is
*chain 3,
in second loop from hook single crochet 6 around,
slip stitch closed,
chain 3,* repeat from star.
I did that until I had enough of the zig zaging material that I shall name "cluster puff lace".
I then bunched the bubbles together and sewed them down to my base on the top, bottom, and side,!
(Then it was the all night rush to add the bits and bobs described below)
I used shaped pipe cleaner for the face sewing the pieces on as I went,
Then I made the arm's useing pipe cleaner wrapped in a rectangle of felt and sewed down the whole length then I cut the felt like a paper snowflake to look like vines!
And the pumpkin basket was made 2 years ago for a different costume contest.
The pattern was on the fly I think it was
magic circle 6 double crochet, and then an alternating front and both loop double crochet for two rows, it's kinda like a waffle stitch but without the top, and a simple chain for the handle!
Sorry if this is confusing :) I don't usually write (or for that matter fallow) written patterns, so it's kind difficult to explain, I just do it!
And don't feel bad if you don't understand the mess of text I just made, I've been crocheting for 10 years now, I started learning when I was 13 it's an amazing craft! And really fun to master! ;) I hope I answered your question! <3

Well darn, I wanted the baby frosting castle to win lol

thank y’all for your votes guys! This hot dog was the hardest thing I’ve ever made in my life!

LOL that was mine! :lolpony: Thank you for the kind words! I thought your hotdog was so fun and just randomly cute, like ... omg of course Munchy would dress up as a hot dog. LOL!! Congratulations!!

Now that the contest is done, I can share one last photo - the drawbridge works!! I was in such a rush, I picked the wrong photo; my brain thought, 'but everyone will want to see the cool door detail I drew!' instead of thinking 'WORKING DRAWBRIDGE,' which took some brain-twisting to get working!

Peekaboo!

What's funny is, I don't actually own the Dream Castle! So I had to keep looking up online references, and hoping I was getting the proportions and details right! The back turret is a little small, but I was thinking it might make the front two look a little more imposing by comparison! (Plus, I didn't want to TOTALLY bury poor Baby Frosting!) I made this with cardboard, a manilla folder for cardstock, washi tape for the flags, paint (so much paint!!), puff paint, hot glue, a basecoat/primer in Rustoleum (which melted the hot glue :lolpony:) felt for the base, wire to hold the felt around her legs, and jewelry chain! Oh, and one Baby Frosting. :p

Congrats to everyone!! I think everyone had really, really great costumes this year! That Floom was WOAH!!! I can't crochet, but that looks like something that would take a hundred years to make!!

My grandmother crocheted for so many years that she would fall asleep and keep to crocheting while sleeping.

You put an @ sign before it :) like this @ActionHank - once you up the @ and start typing, usernames will start popping up

I have been photographed doing this! :lolpony:
I'm also able to crochet in the dark, I can feel where the next stitch go's, so if I ever go blind I can still crochet!
