Congrats @strawberrypony32 !! I loved yours the costumes and the little pumpkin bucket are adorable :D did you make the bucket too?
@MonsterIceCream yours was one of my other favorites  it looked so realistic!
And @stjarne yours was such a unique idea, I never would’ve thought to recreate a scene from the books :D my favorite part was the little socks you made for minty
@Jellybean thanks so much! Yup, I had to use my teenie tiniest paintbrush to get all those stripes on there. And Zero was my favorite ^_^ I wanted to do a Sally too but definitely didn’t have the time for that lol. I wasn’t familiar with who your pony was dressed as but the pleated skirt you made for her looks amazing :D plus it looks like it actually laces up the back which is super cool
So much painting patience! A Sally would be cool too, maybe a future halloween project?

Thank you! It does lace up the back! :D
My pony is dressed as the iconic '80's dream-dress-wearing, David-Bowie-chasing Jennifer Connolly from Jim Henson's Labyrinth. Here is one of my approximately 7 million reference images:

Labyrinth film still - wide front bodice sleeves proportions 2a.JPG

If you haven't seen this movie it is an absolute classic!

It did take a while to paint haha! I might still make her since I’m gonna leave them in their costumes till after Halloween
Wow, that is quite the dress! Those are the puffiest puffy sleeves I’ve ever seen. Yours totally looks like it then! (And if you have any pics and wanted to share I’d love to see the full size costume you made of it sometime)
And you’re the 3rd person to tell me I have to see that movie recently, so it must be true! I really should find it :D

Congrats @strawberrypony32 you deserve the win! They're adorable and I love the little pumpkin basket!

Again everyone did amazing and I wish I could have voted for them all!!

Yours was a close runner up for me! That zero was adorable and you did great on your painting job! Yes you have to find the movie and watch it!! It's iconic for any fantasy lover like you. Pretty sure it's on Netflix you won't regret it.

Hehehe I loveee the smooze hands!! :lolpony: When showing my mom all the different costumes i pointed out the big smooze hand and she went GASP sCaRy! I have to agree with her, such a good blobby smooze!! You did so good thats crochet right or is it knitting? I cant tell but, man, that must have taken a lot of work!! I crochet but never a smooze before! Let alone a hand, as an artists, making hands of any sort is a feat OuO"
Thank you! It's crochet.
The arms are somewhat Tunisian crochet to get the initial length then I made loops with a black twist tie and crocheted around that to make the structure of the bottom of the fingers I wanted to do a full wire hand and arm but I didn't have access to my pipe cleaners so I just kinda shaped it to my liking then I went a round and a round to make the palm then back and forth down the inside of the arm.
The eyes are also sitting inside the eye sockets and can pop out if I push hard enough because they aren't tied down!
Fun fact except for the eyes of course the costume was made with one continuous strand of yarn throughout the entire costume!

If you're in the US and have Netflix, it's available there right now! It's a great Halloween movie, as it's PG for some spookiness. The synopsis is: Teenage girl absorbed in her fantasy life wishes her baby brother be taken away by goblins, and then must go on a quest to rescue him from a realm and an adversary of her own making.

Thank you!!

Gruesome! :D

This kind of crochet is so cool, it's basically sculpting 3D-print style with yarn!

Congratulations @strawberrypony32 !! Your Doos are so adorable (a-doo-rable?)!! Man, competition was fierce this year! Here's hoping next year is just as fun!!

i'm surprised yours didn't get ANY votes honestly i thought it was pretty funny. you chose the perfect pony for him
Post Malone is actually from about 45 mins away from where I live lol so I had to choose the “Texas” pony

Congratulations @strawberrypony32 ! Yours was so cute! I was impressed by the seaming to make the suits fit those narrow G2 bodies! Also Scooby is a great Halloween choice. Back in 11th grade my friend wanted to do a Scooby group (lol I typed "groop") so I wound up making myself a paper mache Scooby head, and seeing your little diamond collar brought back memories.

I truly enjoyed all of the entries!

@DracoKat 's has a pretty balance of details and colors. The plume of straw in the hat is especially nice.
@MonsterIceCream The texture on the banana peel is very convincing! It's so funny to see a suspiciously wide banana in the bowl and I liked how the sticker moved when "peeled."
@stjarne worked to catch every element in that illustration! Right down to the stepstones and striped socks. It's so cute and I like the interior lighting. I snuck a string of fairy lights into my entry too! <3
@PonyMomma The tiny snakes are killin' me! Their little tongues! And I didn't even know you could get googly eyes that small!
@ActionHank The tiny muzzle! The tiny whiskers! Cute cute cute and what a fun idea!
@dragonlady 's crochet skills are fabulous. The curly tentacles turned out perfect! Fairy Wavedancer makes me think of Neopets paintbrushes, and I always love to see a sea pony being extra fanciful!
@maycrestmom I'm not even familiar with Loot Llama but I can tell you did it justice. The layers of paper colors are just great and its expression is hilarious. It looks like it would wobble precariously as Summer Berry proudly parades it from door to door.
@Sassarazzmadazzles I'm so happy I was paying attention to the Mascot Pony thread so I could get the reference. Well done. Well. Done.
@MegaLeafeon came in swinging with this one! So many eyes must have taken ages! I can almost hear the sound effects.
@vampyrefay I wish this little pumpkin would visit my door on Halloween! I would blubber and give them too much candy. Such a cutie!
@AzaleaArt Three whole costumes with all the details! You even painted pinstripes on the suit! I love the shape of Zero's ears and hem. Awesome job!

As for mine, thanks so much to everyone who voted for Sarah! I honestly stopped minding about winning (and started pushing the deadline pretty close) when I was having soooo much fun making her and working on her details. I've sewn costumes for many years now, but I've never made pony wear before and certainly never made a pony wig!! But one of my last major passion projects was a cosplay of Sarah's ballroom look and I have been giggling so much trying to make it all again to pony proportions. I was so excited to share her I kind of forgot to show a closeup of all her details so I'm going to make a post soon about the Making Of just to show it off

Don't let your ponies wear their costumes too long or eat too much candy (we don't want vinyl stains!) but give them all pats and hugs for their hard work. Kudos to all the creative crafters and pranksters, this was amazing!! I'm so glad I came back to the Trading Post when I did. It's been a blast!
Thank youu!! <3 I figured it would be fun to do g2 since I dont think one has ever been entered before, i may be wrong. I also thought their thin bodies would lend itself nicely to the Scooby Doo silhouette! :D Flitters tiny little costume was so tricky, G2 babies are soo teeny tiny!

Thats such a fun memory!! Paper mache is so fun, that sounds like an amazing Scooby Doo! Glad i could bring up good memories :purpleheart:
Cant wait to see your making of post for yours! :D I LOVE the Labyrinth!!

I agree with everything you said! Everyones costumes are so wonderful and clever!! Eeee i could talk forever about them if I only had the time and space!! Lol

@MonsterIceCream Banana Surprise keeping the banana sticker after being peeled made me laugh haha it reminds me of the one lord of the rings meme i love!

@PonyMomma The tiny snakes are soooo cute it took me a minute to realize they all have diff eyes, a nice touch! :D

Thank youu!!:purpleheart: I did make the candy bucket! I love crocheting mini stuff, i split 4 ply yarn into single ply strands then crochet with the smallest sizes of hooks, around the 2mm sizes, maybe smaller depending how well it holds the yarn. Im so glad people took notice of it! I was worried it was overshadowed, it was so fun to make! :lolpony:

Your Zero is so adorable!! I love your costumess. The way you did Jack Skellingtons collar is so good! Maybe Sally another time? :D I wanted to make more g2 baby costumes for Shaggy and Velma but i didnt have time either.

Congrats @strawberrypony32 ! Such an amazing sewing skills! I had my niece help me with mine, she did most of the sewing lol.

Thank you all who voted for me, it's an honor to come in second place!

Everyone did a great job!
Thankies! :happyhearts: Yours looks so soft!! What type of material is it? It looks so cuddly, it may just be felt but it looks so plush! I love that you chose a scarecrow!! :D You and your Niece did an amazing job!! Everyone did such a good job! Im still so hyped, so much funn.

Oh my goshhh I havent tried that technique before. All hail the smooze champion!!! I dont know if I could have pulled it off haha you must have had a lot of yarn!! I always end up tying pieces together and trying to hide the knots lol. Im so tickled at the hands and eyeballs hahaha your smooze is just delightful!! :lolpony:

Haha alright, alright I’m convinced that sounds exactly like something I’d watch :lolpony: And I do have Netflix so that makes it easy

Wow, I thought it was made using embroidery floss since it was so tiny! Awesome job :lolpony: And nope it wasn’t overshadowed at all
Aww thanks!! I was thinking about still making Sally (I mean I’d already picked out the pony and everything, don’t want her to feel left out!) before I take the costumes off the others.
Little baby shaggy and Velma would be pretty adorable too if you do end up making them

Let us know how you like the movie!! :D :twohearts:

I have crocheted with embriodery floss before when making pony scale flowers but its soooo hard you have to do it with a magnifying glass o_O I usually just use a single ply of yarn for things like pony sized baskets, hats, scarves, etc since its small but easier to see. Thanks for liking the basket! :happyhearts:
Ooooo you should still make Sally! :D if you want to of course. I may make a Shaggy and Velma but i might have to save it for next year, Ive got so many christmas presents to crochet!!!
