FFXIII-2 Lightning v.3.0

3rd armored Lightning custom I’ve made since 2012~

Lots of additional weapon sets and accessories requested for this project, will add to this thread as they're completed.

Commissioned request of Lightning Claire Ferron as seen in the Play Station 2 video game Final Fantasy XIII-2 as a custom pony figure.

Pony base is an engineered pose from two different generation 1 Sweet Heart Sister poses.

Original body/heads have a layer of Gesso prepped before paint work. Then full body repaint job in flesh tone acrylics, eyes hand-painted in my anime-fusion style, and cutie mark is a original design by me that I first composed via water color pencil sketch on paper. It is a Lightning Rose Cloud- a cloud and rose spliced into one concept, with lightning bolts bolting out the bottom, and rose petals flowing from the rose cloud.

Painted black acrylics for a bodice and on entire front legs.

All paint work sealed in Artists Varnish.

Mane and tail re-rooted via both the re-hair tool method, and the wire method for some plugs for the sake of saving length of the hair.

Hair is in 4 shades of neutral pale pinks, and about 2 shades of light blondes.

Hair colors are as follow- knotted plugs of saran sugarless gum pink Barbie hair from Dollyhair, hand-mixed with a pale blond.

Then Dollyhair’s Dusty rose nylon hair, pale dusty brownish blond Tiramisu, then a blend of both RetrodollUS’s nylon Oyster and Dollyhair’s Oyster Shell nylon hair, blended together. A bit redundant, but it was a labor of love as one was more lavender than the other and both left over from previous projects.

Mane permanently hardened in my hair gel method.

Armor is constructed entirely of thin silver leather material with gold and silver strips of leather, with gold and silver thick wire accenting some part. Hand-stitched in some part of the armor.

All armor bits were sketched out on card stock then traced onto the silver material then cut. Authentic leather dyed purple used for some under-areas of the armor. Some thin brown leather strips used, painted gold detail on the purple flaps under the tail.

Glued large tufts of white feathers under one side.

Completed moogle accessory set for this project.

Commissioned project of moogle accessories for some Final Fantasy XIII-2/Lightning Returns customs of Lightning and her sister Serah.
Moogle bits include a moogle staff and shield, crafted from a wooden dowel, real clock bits, metal jewelry, plastic beads, real white leather, acrylic paint detailing, some bits connected with floral wire.

Moogle hat and detachable wings- crafted from leather, hand-stitched, bead accessories, acrylic paint coloring, wings are structured with thick wire.

Moogle bobble head bands- constructed from black and metallic wires, plastic beads. All pieces removable.

I love the armor work! Nice job!

Adding to this post, yet another separate set of weapon accessories~ the matching weapon set for the Knight of Etro armor

Blade- cut all pieces out on card stock for traceable patterns, then traced them onto leather pieces. Thick belt black leather for the main blade and handles, gray leather for the rest of the pieces. Acrylic paint detailing in metallic silvers and golds, some black. Glued transparent pony packaging on the blade and a few other places to solidify the pieces and give them a reflective sheen.

Flat wooden dowels also used various places and glued to leather for sturdy layers.

Metallic rhinestones to finish.

Shield- got out the cardstock and cut out a circle pattern, traced it onto leather, cut then mod podged the back of it to give it shape. Painted shield in metallic acrylics. Glued a circle of dark green leather for the center.

Lined the green piece in a strip of silver leather trim. Cut out silver vinyl triangles for detail, with silver rhinestone dots.

Painted gold details, cut thin gold leather strips from trim for the 3-D details, finished with flat gold rhinestones.
