Slightly sad, this is your warning.

So Wednesday last week my mum picks me up at work and tells me that the feral cat has moved her kittens into our garage. YAY KITTENS TO LOOK AT!!

The very next morning the feral cat is laying on the edge of our lawn, she got hit by a car and did not make it. Now we have two orphans in our garage. We are very thankful that she moved them there and that they are old enough to eat real food.

Thankfully we have a cat so we had tinned food for them, now we have lots of tins. They are just the cutest little things, but totally afraid of us still. We give them food and during the day leave the back door of the garage open so they can play and explore the world of the backyard. At night we put food down, they know the sound of the spoon on the plate and come running in. Once both are accounted for we close the door.

The local vet receptionist is checking what they might be able to do to help us out, we don't really want to keep them, but we want to make sure they go someplace safe, and if there's any health issues in the immediate future we can't afford to take them to the vet, so she's looking to see if the doctors will offer any help like that.

In the meantime they are worming their way into our hearts, today I watched through the back window as one of them stalked a bit of rope laying on the porch and the other played with the dead leaves.

I want to keep them and snoogle them, but I can't.

Aww little kitties! How sweet! That's so sad about their momma but at least they have a great temporary home!

So far so good. They come running at our feet when we go into the garage, only to run away again in a hurry, but they know we bring food. They are just the cutest little things ever!

Aaaaw. It's sad that their mum passed away, but you're taking great care of them. I remember when my cat was a kitten she was really shy!

Aww, what a tragic beginning to their lives. But also a lucky beginning since their mom had just moved them to someplace where they'll be safe with you. Good luck with the little guys!

aww! thats really heartbreaking thing to listen up, their mom passed so early. but need not to worry, they would recover soon....

The kittens are doing wonderfully. They cuddle people now, they still prefer not to be held most of the time. My cat is playing the roll of Uncle very well and we even caught him licking one of the little girls last night, it was only for a moment but it's a good sign.
Mum is still dead set that they aren't staying forever and we'll find them a new home, and my uncle wants to take them to his jungle home in Mexico. I'd rather they stay right where they are. They're just adorable and sweet and playful and it's nice to have that sort of active life around us right now.

I type as my old boy snores from his sleeping spot beside me.

I'm so glad to read they're doing well. You're a real sweetie to care so much for them. :smilepony:

I'm glad your raising her babies to be good kitties. Are you able to touch them at all yet?

I am happy to report that the two little kittens we found are now named Shar and Selune. My mum agreed to let me keep them last November and they are just the sweetest tempermented little darlings. They come running when I get home from work, insist on cuddles all the time and sleep with me at night. Gandalf (our old boy) gets along with them well. They're still nervous around new people and often hide in my closet when stranger first arrive to the house. I am crazy happy to have them with me.

Both have been fixed and given their shots (my dad paid for one of them to get done as my Christmas gift last year) and they love to be brushed and to play in the bath tub (they even turn the water on.) I just heard a crash downstairs so I better get my butt out of bed and go see who knocked what over.

I'm so happy you got to keep them, Baby Nightmare! They must be big lovely beauties by now!

Sad to hear about the mother cat. :( but I'm glad that you got to keep them and that they've gotten a good home.

That's how we ended up with Tiger. He was an orphan kitten. My mom brought him home from one of her coworkers one night.. he was only 3 weeks old when we took him in.. so I had to still bottle feed him and everything. The litter was sick and we never did find out what happened to the rest of them, but now he's just 15 pounds of loveable fluff.... not to mention 18 years old

Yay! that's so great you get to keep the kittens :D. But sad that mother cat could not be with them :/
