My First HQG1C Custom - Tundra [He Is Complete!]

Looking so handsome!
 
What a handsome boy he’s turning out to be :D I think the symbol looks good slightly different on each side
 
A quick update on Tundra

I hadn’t been able to work on him recently and I don’t like leaving ponies unfinished/without any sort of hair at all for a long time so I made a start on his mane. I added forelock and I did try tinsel but it’s too thick or too curly. May need to see if it’s possible to straighten it. I did try putting some in but I wasn’t too keen so I’m going to do it after it’s all in. The white stripe will be added a bit like Gusty’s as Mountain Boys had those
His snow in his mark needs another layer and I’m considering going back in and adding some slight blue outlines since something doesn’t feel completely satisfying with it just yet. We’ll see

New update on Tundra!

I hadn’t been able to do Tundra recently but he has finished his next stage now

He has his mane in and his tail. Well, his tail still has the pull string attached and will be removed again when I go over the symbol. He was a bit of a pain this time since my needle broke partway in doing the other half of his mane and then when I went to put the white stripe in, I poked the holes too close and then they started mixing with the blue so I had to take some out and do it again but then pieces of blue started pulling and it was a total mess. Also I had to use whatever was remaining for the tail. I’m not trimming him until I know how much to trim off and hope that the tail is long enough.

Tundra when he was just blue:

His white stripe is hardly visible. I wondered if I should have used the same white as I used previously thinking maybe it’ll show up more but I don’t want to mess about with that again. He has enough holes in his head (I had to redo the stripe ones too) and I also secured it all with glue. Which also became quite a mess inside his head

What is left to do is trim him, fix up his symbol and add tinsel!

The subtle blending of the blue and white makes it look like ice glare, I love it! He came out SOOO gorgeous!!! X3

Ended up not putting tinsel in him because as I was waiting for the reroot needles to arrive, I got so used to him not having it that I preferred it and then when they arrived, I didn’t like it much. My tinsel is much too thick anyway and super duper coiled

I fixed up the white on his symbol and added blue. I’m a little on the fence about if I want to undo the sparkly blue or not but I think I do like the blue… just might prefer all white a little more but the blue looks better in bright light. But at the same time it feels like it may need the blue to tie in all the colours into the symbol too? It would have been better if the blue lines were lighter but my light blue glitter posca just wasn’t like that? I didn’t want to do too much or keep going more because I don’t seem to realise when to stop and adjusting things. Probably best I did opt for no tinsel too

Thank you, I quite like TAF ponies and there is so much space for a symbol to go to its fullest! A bit like Pillow Talk or those four ponies I had drawn :MAD:

I have two more blank ponies but it may be a while before I begin those I think. I may do another big symbol for those too… :rolleyespony:
