I found the complete series of My Pony Tales and I admit I hadn't seen it before because we didn't have the Disney Channel until 94'.
I wish I had watched it as a kid, its so good and I probably would have been a bigger MLP fan. I had a few ponies I found at Goodwill and I had the minis carousel playset I found at a garage sale but that was the extent of my pony love as a kid.

Anyways I love how well done Pony Tales was done, it was interesting, fun and had great messages. Honestly I wish the newer seasons were as good as this show.

That's how all shows were in the 80s and 90s but honestly I didn't mind it.
I mean look at Captain Planet, it was basically one big ad for recycling and deforestation yet it was still a favorite of mine.

Yes I know, I did grow up during that time period. ;)

Captain Planet had a little more nuance and wasn't shy about tackling controversial subjects. It was a good show.

Hasbro’s moralizing was and still is not only ham handed, but often misses the mark completely.

Sweetheart, Lancer, and Patch were always my favorite characters, but Clover and Bon Bon have the prettiest toys.
 
I don’t think I was born yet during its original run but they showed it in reruns when I was maybe 3-4 and me and my older sister loved watching it together while holding some of her ponys ^_^
The pony tales themes song is still my favorite mlp theme
for anyone who doesn’t know that one

Also that’s so cool you found the playset at a garage sale, it’s such a cute one!

I do wish there had been more inclusion of bright color schemes and Pegasus or unicorns included. Still my favorite set of pony characters though.

I always wondered about that too. It was an odd decision to have a society composed entirely of earth ponies.

It was and still played. I had it up till 2018 and sold it in our house auction.
Wasn't complete but had allot of the original pieces
 
Why do you suppose we only got the show in the states, and the toys everywhere but? I mean, I guess you could say we got the Glow n Shows and the Rock n Beats, but Melody wasn't even in that set.

Those are good questions that I don't have an answer for, unfortunately. Maybe someone a little more knowledgeable than myself. I do wish we had the toys in the states when I was a kid. They were my favorite ponies, and I waned them but substituted other ponies in.
 
Ohh, a Tales topic! I love Tales haha. I didn't exactly grow up with it, the show was before my time, but I did spend a lot of G3 going back and watching it and the rest of G1.

It's kind of odd, if you go on youtube you can find pretty much all of the songs.... except the litter song in the final episode. Which... I wish that wasn't the final episode haha. I wish Tales were a lot longer than it is.

Teddy is probably my favorite character of the bunch haha. Actually my character Warp's look is inspired by his. Of the main cast, probably Clover and Sweetheart, though Bon Bon has her moments.
