Greetings and salutations, o hooféd ones! I just discovered the Trading Post today while trying to find more information regarding a small collection of ponies I want to send to a new home.

They're a complete set of the Mane Six, original traveling series, still fully packaged and kept in a box out of the sun since 2012. I bought them with the specific intention of selling them someday.

There are also a wedding series Lyra and Trixie. They've been kept in a drawer but have somehow managed to catch some sun, so while they are also still packaged, the packaging has yellowed slightly. The pones inside, however, are fine.

Having dug around for similar ponies on eBay, I thought maybe I might get away with asking £150.00 for the full bundle, and if nobody bit after a couple of attempts, put them up separately for £20.00 per pony.

I am completely inexperienced with selling collectibles of any kind, and have no seller credit on eBay yet.

Any advice with how I should proceed here would be appreciated.

Welcome!
The only advice, I can offer is with online purchasing.
Yes with Ebay, I had zero credit. I would message the seller before making a purchase just to get a feel for them. Upon making the purchase, I would immediately pay. If after a week, if no tracking information is sent then I politely send a message requesting Tracking Information. Upon receiving the package, I check that everything is correct and if so then I leave positive feedback.
If anything is missing or broken, then I send an email to the seller. If the seller doesn't send missing items or replace broken items or offer a discount/refund then I will take it up with my Credit Card. If the seller, makes the situation right then I will leave positive feedback.

Everyone starts off with Zero Seller Credit.

I understand that Ebay Can be intimidating so you have my empathy and now you have my advice.

Welcome to the herd

Thanks for the advice! It's helpful to get a little more insight on the process, even from the buyer's side.

Welcome to the herd

I've actually been a brony since season 2 was airing. (I also wound up spreading it to several of my friends!) But it's nice to finally get the correct formal welcome from someone!~

Welcome, and good luck on selling! The luggage set was one of my favorites!

Thanks! And good to know it was well-liked by someone.

I still only have a vague idea of how I should be pricing these fillies. Do my given asking prices (£150.00 (~$190.00 USD) for the set, or £20.00 (~$25.00 USD) individual) sound fair?

First welcome, welcome! I love your avatar!

Secondly, as to your pricing

It does sound fair, as getting them all together is cheaper for a buyer than buying individually, that's probably how you should try to sell them at first, then break them up if they don't sell.

I've sold the these as individuals before and typically I could get $15 for the mane six, except Twilight, she went for $22. Now that she has wings, the non winged versions are a little more sought after. Trixie and Lyra, being more rare, sold a bit higher. Trixie went for $27 and Lyra went at $24. I think selling them as a group you might start at $120-ish and see if the bids take it higher. If you[re selling it outright, put your top dollar down and see if you get any nibbles, and maybe chip the price down after the first round of trying to sell.

I hope this helps a little!

Thank you so much for your insight! I was really hoping I could get some advice from somebody who knows how much one can expect particular ponies to sell for, as I have only my own knowledge as a fan of the show and intuition to rely on otherwise. And I was indeed curious as to whether a wingless Twilight would be a bit more special, so it's nice to hear my suspicions confirmed.

I'm completely inexperienced with selling things on eBay, so I'm also glad just to hear some suggestions on how to go about actually selling them. I think I will try the "sell outright" option first, going for my suggested £150.00 mark, and if they don't attract any bites, start trying again at a lower price. If it gets down to around the £100.00 area, I'll knock it down to £80.00 and do it as an auction.

EDIT

I've put the pones up on eBay, for sale - not as an auction. Where on the Trading Post should I post a link? There's a section for off-site auctions, but I'm unsure about off-site sales. Should I just make a thread for it in the "Wanted to Sell" section? And, if I do, am I allowed to include an eBay link?
