When G3 started to become labelled with “retro”, it felt weird. I still don’t see G3 as “retro” or entirely “old”.

Soon, G4 are gonna be too now we’ve got these new ponies.
The bodies are good shape but the heads... the heads are just not for me.
Maybe this is Hasbro’s way of telling me to stop collecting the newer ones? :lolpony:

Maybe they’ll somewhere have a version of them I’ll like? I quite liked the Cutie Mark Crew of G4

It's crazy to think that G3 is nearly 20 years old at this point, having begun in 2003 o_O

Of course it ended in 2008, but even that was over 10 years ago!

Putting it like that sounds crazy! It’s hard to realise how old some of my collections are now, like my Gogos Crazybones.
It doesn’t feel like 10 years ago to me but then again it doesn’t feel like under 10 either...

Hitch is kinduva dumb name. Trailblazer works nicely enough.

I don't like the human-sounding double names.
Otoh if one name isn't to a person's taste, they can just default to the other. Moonbow's name reminds me of the Rainbow babies. I think Sunny or Starscout work well. Sunny is a nice, simple pony name and Starscout is cute without being overdone.

I agree, two-word names in previous gens meshed together a lot more naturally. I think it's because the first word in each name typically wasn't human-sounding, and the two words were meant to form one name instead of a first and last name. You could often shorten them to the first word (Tempest Shadow to Tempest, and so on) but they were understood to be singular. It's not like Bright Eyes had "Eyes" as a last name. o_O

The parts of each name here don't feel very connected in concept either (Izzy and Moonbow?), which makes the human-ness worse.

Not all the time. Some of the names are overdone and just plain dumb or nonsensical. Spoiled Milk, Fizzleberry Twist, Quibble Pants, Pinkie Pie, Pearly Pie, Tinka-tinka-too, Her Majesty Ballerina, Dishwater Slog.

It doesn't happen often, but its not the first time ponies have had human names.

Misty, Melody, Tiffany, Teddy, Billie, Katie, Susie, Eve, Junior, Jenny.

That's fair! I just feel like most of the time, the names were meant to convey concepts (whatever they may be) instead of resembling human names.

But there have definitely been names that seemed (or just were) human before, even in G4 - Mi Amore Cadenza is a big one.

I won't argue with that. And I mostly dislike pony names that are blatantly human as well, instead of a human name based on a thing in nature, i.e. Lily, Misty, or Eve. Tiffany and Teddy are some of my exceptions.

I completely agree with the nature thing!

There are also a bunch of other human names that I totally forgot about. Dawn, Ace, Ember, Tex, Serena, Primrose, Bonnie, Pristina, Taffeta, Rapunzel...

That old gypsy woman lied to me, she said that the new pony show was going to be in a nuclear wasteland filled withe evil villains, giant floating heads, nuclear power plants, communism, and other things!

The animation is sort of cute, but more generic Disney-esque than something new. I’m not overly keen on the sound of the plot (which also doesn’t sound very original to me).
The toys...no. They look like human-shaped horses.

Horse-shaped horse toys, hasbro. That’s all I want out of MLP. Will be spending my money on G1s.

Did you cross her palm with silver? Or just a nickel?
