Noticed something odd about G1 back card stories

I don't know if anyone has posted this before, but I just discovered it.

Well I was reading Mainsail and Napper's back card stories, and both of them talk about the ponies "flying into the air" even though both of these ponies are earthlings. WTF? Whats with all the flying if they don't have wings?

Any one else notice this?

In the UK stories etc it's not uncommon for earth and pegasus ponies to have magic spells and tricks and for unicorns and earthlings to fly...depending on their set type. I know that Sparkle Ponies had some way of flying over here - or Sky Rocket did.

The MLP cartoons are really unimaginative in that department, only allowing pegasus ponies to fly and unicorn ponies to do magic. I guess whoever did the cards in whatever country wasn't au fait with the cartoon characterisation (which would've been decided on by the Sunbow writers, and not probably by Hasbro's PR department).

Taffeta- Your post makes me want to read the UK comics and such. I always loved the cartoon as a child, but was sad that was all there really was in the US (aside from the dinky backcard stories). Maybe when I get some extra spending money I'll try to buy a few! :)
