November Thankfulness Thread

I'm thankful that I still have a best friend who care about me, even though I hardly ever (i.e. never) see her anymore. I'm thankful for my long distance friends, and I love them and cherish them even though we may never meet face to face. I'm grateful for the handful of other friends and acquaintances that I have, and I'm happy to be able to go out and have fun together every now and then.

I'm thankful for all of the talents that I have been given, even though I'm not fantastic at any single one and have too many different things I like doing to focus on improving just one. Few things make me happier than being artistic and creative.

I am thankful to have the internet (even if the download speeds are crap and my ping is high), because I'd be lost without it. I wouldn't be able to talk to my boyfriend while he's at work or when I'm at my house, I wouldn't be able to keep in touch with my friends, and I'd never have known the incredible people that I've met online. I wouldn't be able to study or work from home, and I wouldn't have access to information on everything I could possibly want to know about. I wouldn't be able to shop online, and as I have no transport I'd then never be able to buy groceries. I'd never get to watch series that don't come on TV here, and I wouldn't be able to play online games like League of Legends or any of the MMOs that I've played in the past. And I definitely wouldn't have any ponies.

I am thankful for the bad things that have happened in my life, the hard times, the loss and the pain. They have made me the person I am today, stronger and more appreciative of the little things, the good times and happy memories.

I'm thankful for clearance sales and vouchers, for second hand games and used toys, for pawn brokers, charity stores and hand-me-down clothes, because without those things I'd never be able to afford what I want.

I am thankful for my husband (again), who continues to surprise me. (We went shopping to fill our Operation Christmas Child box tonight and he actually put thought into the things he chose and was interested in what we send the little boy who will receive our box.)

This sounds silly but I am thankful for my Etsy shop. I can't go to work so it provides me an opportunity to contribute to my family. I'm able to make others happy by selling toys and it makes me feel useful.

Oh my I am so far behind again.

I am thankful for my job and all the opportunities it gives me.
I am thankful for my home and our own yard to raise my son in.
I am thankful for our pediatrician, who is the most straight forward and worry-free man I have ever met. He never allows my "mom worries" to get the best of me and has never been wrong about his recommendations yet.
And finally, I am thankful for my surgical techs. They are my partners-in-crime every day of the week and we all look out for each other so well. I wouldn't be as effective at my job without them!

I'm thankful for my dentist, who is truly one of the nicest, sweetest people I've ever met. He's the only dentist I've ever known who makes you laugh while you have tubes, cotton wads, drills and gloved fingers in your mouth. He is strict but kind and understanding, and he never judges. He'll scold you one moment and tease you the next.

I am thankful to have had a job, even if it was only for eight months and I lost it five years ago. I was given a chance when nobody else would have offered me the position without qualifications. Though I was overworked at times, it had good hours. I loved the work and I really liked all of the people I worked with. It was a dream job, an experience, and I wish I could have that back again.

I am thankful for weekends--time to spend with my two favorite boys in the world and make our family bond stronger.

I am thankful I have a generous son. He did my chores for me today so I could rest.

I am grateful I own my home free and clear. I'm helping a friend move tomorrow and thinking how glad I am I'll never have to pack up my belongings again.

I am grateful for the hospice nurses who have become my friends while they help me care for my sick mom. I would literally be doomed without them. And new friends are always welcome!

I am grateful for Pinkie, our little Jack Russell. She was rescued 15 years ago and has been our faithful friend ever since. Her health is so good people are stunned to learn her age. I look forward to many more years of faithful friendship and foot warming (she is laying on my feet).
