OctoberMoon's retreat and spa

What’s regrind?… do u mean when the plastic has been mixed with a previous batch and doesn’t quite match?… I think that’s it it’s been a while sorry catching up on jargon again..
I doubt there is much anyone can do about that
Right! It might have matched at first but something in the aging process turned some particles almost highlighter colors.

@Twinkle-eye I finally got a pic of the Windy I found at the Salvation Army. This is AFTER a quick bath…but I haven’t tried to comb her hair out yet. Update: her hair combed nicely, but her tail has been pulled caddy-whompus so that half of it is much too long and half is much too short. And her body is still quite dingy looking.

@OctoberMoon do you have any suggestions about how to get her body color back into shape (without destroying the glitter cutie mark)? I also recently acquired a BF Confetti that my husband found at a different Salvation army. She, too, has dirt and what looks like blue highlighter on her...do I need a light box? If so, what light do I buy to put in it? Like a grow-light for a plant? LOL! As you can see, I'm pretty n00by when it comes to fixing these poor ponies up. EDIT: I see you have already posted me a tutorial about how to make a light box!! I am on it. That looks easy!

She doesn't look too discoloured. Some stains can be removed with a wipe of acetone, but immediately wash the area after with soap and water! Have you tried a magic eraser at all? They are really good for this! Keep both these things away from eyes and symbols, though.

Pretty much. The colors matched on product but separate over the years.

This girl has regrind

Cloudpuff, nooo!

@Twinkle-eye I have a magic eraser around here somewhere. I haven't tried it on a pony yet. Maybe I will give that a try on Confetti, as she has more of a spot problem, but her body is really all white besides those spots. I feel like Windy's more gray than pale purple, and needs more of an all-over solution. I'll try the acetone idea on her. You do just mean nail polish remover, right?

Also, when I try to look up that peroxide cream it just brings up a bunch of stuff for bleaching one's hair. Same stuff?! General question to anyone who uses a light box - what kind works for you?!

Yes it's just salon cream. I got mine from Amazon. You might want to visit this website, it's super helpful and lists tons of products to use.

Just be careful, Acetone will remove all paint and glitter.

For an all over sunfading, you can try putting her in a liquid peroxide bath in the sun. I am doing this with my Confetti and she's fading nicely and her paint/glitter's still in tact (though I can't guarantee glitter will stay nice in the end)

@DracoKat I won't see much sun here again until May, and I am impatient. LOL! But, if I make my light box big enough and just use cheap tupperware, I could still do that. I'd just have to flip her over once in a while, so both sides of her get into the peroxide, I guess? Or are you holding her under somehow?

I popped the head off and submerged them by filling with the liquid, they stay under that way. And yes, flip them every day or so.
A light box would work beautifully with the right bulb!

Thanks!! Any idea why re-hair Baby Brightbow is a different color? I didn't do her curls, she came that way. Can't believe she was so cheap!

You got an amazing deal on them! I was surprised she out the rehaired one up so low. You got an amazing deal!

As for the colors, I’m assuming maybe the way they’ve been stored and the color changed over the years?

Well I'm working from home today and my desk is right beside my pony to do table....it's very hard to work with them giving me the sad eyes.
