Oh my. I’m out of my mind! Advice anyone?

Sounds like you guys had fun at least. I live in the country so out here to me is like I would camp in my yard if I went camping.

I think we’ll pass on bugs and poison ivy @evilbunnyfoofoo lol. We’d love to visit sometime. I need to get an enhanced ID first.

@Gingerbread yes we made s’mores. Ooey gooey all over their faces s’mores. That was the best part!

@STLGusty I don’t know what surgery you’ve had… I have a double level cervical (neck vertebrae) fusion. I missed my bed.

@Tak I had a total left hip replacement! So crazy! Yours sounds awful though!! Thankfully my doctor and my physical therapist says I have youth on my side to recover from mine (well, I’m 37 vs the usual hip replacement patient!). I hope you bounce back quickly.
I’m hoping that maybe this October we can go camping. I teach and we have a “fall break,” so if this summer never works out, hopefully October may work.

I was 37 when I had my neck done! Funny coincidence! It’s been two and a half years. I still do my pt exercises and I sometimes overdo my weight limit, so I have an ‘as needed’ muscle relaxer rx in case it seizes. Honestly. No regrets. I still have the same range of motion and I went a whole year with my dominant arm going numb, tingly, and useless. Now I am just not supposed to be lifting, pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling heavy and awkward objects. I try, but sometimes something needs to be done and there’s only me to do it. I just do my best to be careful and so fat, so good. My last X-ray for it the surgeon said ‘I think this might be my best work ever’. It’s looking like I should be ok for years more. Eventually, they may need to fuse more, but he said he would probably be retired by then! I hope your pt goes well. I’ve been in an out of it for one reason or another since I was 4. It’s worth the work. I still do exercises from ages ago. They really help pinpoint the issue/problem/situation and can provide reli and support for the rest of your life. (Which will be long and happy ;) )

I’m glad you had fun but sorry to hear about the injuries! Ouch! I’ve only been camping twice, with the first being basically in the woods on a property owned by a friend’s family. There were not toilets and I really would have preferred to have one lol. But it was fun being outside and exploring nature! The second time was an unplanned night on a cold and windy mountain!! The fire wouldn’t stay on, after a while, and didn’t do much good anyway. But it’s a memorable experience and I did have some good laughs and it was definitely a very different experience for me!!

We've got a few great day trips planned for the rest of the summer. Luckily we live in a state with so many waterfalls to thee trips are always more fun when you get to rest your feet in the water.
