Peeking back in after... 17 years??? ::dies::

@MustBeJewel Yesss! I remember you too! How cool that you've stayed all this time and you've kept in touch with EDP! I also hear you have been doing great things for the pony community! I would so love to attend one of your meets but MD is allll the way on the other side of the country from me. They look like a total blast!

Wowwww, I remember a lot of those banners! Especially "You paid HOW MUCH?" I wish I could remember who made it! Are you sure you can't share some more? ;D

How could I have forgotten about Pony Survivor? I'm going to have to ask him about that!

Those animated signatures were Pinwheel's? Is that the same Pinwheel I'm thinking of that I met at Pony Palooza 1999? I remember those signatures were a big trend!

The sites I remember most are the ones I had written down in my old notebook I kept for a little while to help me remember who was who around the community, and then later the Pony Folks section of my old website, where I made little drawings of every pony whose site I linked to. I need to find somewhere I can share those, they're still pretty cute! The page had TJ & Tabi's Piece of the Pony Rainbow, @Spoosh's 50 Most Beautiful Ponies Contest, Shadowfire/Orin's "Pony Pony!", The Delaneys' Rainbow Connection, Steamer (one of the only guys we knew of in the community at the time), IceFeather's The Ice Palace, Lavendar Lace's (Brooke's) page, PsiVampyr's Spectral Menagerie, Baby Gloomy's customs, Earthy's Dark Little Corner, Sugarberry's Basil Meadow, Underwater with Wavedancer (Candice), Digital Duckie's Cutthroat Island, and SailAway's Harbor (parts of this site are actually still on the web and boy are they a trip down memory lane for me! She actually lived in the same city as me, I found out, so we got together for pony fun a few times before I moved).

Here's what I remember most about SailAway's Harbor: The MLP Cafe! I actually made a contribution to the menu that was too late to be added, but I still have it, lol. Fakie cola! MMMmm, refreshing! View attachment 58162

.... yeah, we all found a lot of ways to amuse ourselves back then.
"If there is anything I can do to make your meal worse please don't hesitate to scream......." and that grilled medley LOL my fave parts of that

This community has always been so important to me <3 Long story short, it's been my escape/happy place since coming down with a disabling lifelong illness in my teens. Everyone here was there when I needed them--so I want to be there to keep the community alive and the best it can be for them. <3

I can attest that the MDPM is, indeed, a total blast. :D

I can, and I will! I'm just totally swamped with the upcoming fundraiser launch, but once that's done, I'll be able to go through and organize the 25+ years of data I dumped onto a hard drive from all those storage CD's, and I should have a lot of cool stuff to share. :)

I reached out to him recently through Ebay, and totally forgot to follow up. Do you know if he still does web development?

Same Pinwheel, I believe! Aren't they gorgeous?? <3 I wonder where Pinwheel is nowadays.

LOL pre-cell phones and social media, we definitely got creative with our time!!  I remember browsing the webrings for hours.

I have to ask... HOW did you get a fakie body into a glass bottle???

Hii! Welcome back and nice to meet you!! I think I was around as a non member snooping back then so I never knew anyone but im glad to meet you now! :purpleheart: That fakie cola is amazing LOL!

It is wonderful you had ponies and pony people to help through what must have been a terribly difficult time! What a great heart you have!

Oh wow, color me excited to see all of it!

He hasn't in a long time, unfortunately! His work was lovely!

Sssssiiiip... Ahhh.
I wish I could have fit the head in there, but it took all my idiot willpower and a wooden dowel to reverse-birth that poor pony through the neck of that bottle. However, I now have access to a heat gun, so now I just have to decide if a loose head at the top would add to or subtract from the effect. Now that I think on it, that space would probably be good for a label!

Whoa. That’s a long time! It’s good to have you back, and very nice to meet you!
Thank you both very much! :D :D :D

Welcome back!! Sadly gone are those early 2000's days of cheap pony prices, I look at ebay listings now and am grateful I built the bulk of my collection up over the past 20+ years. I bet you got lotsa pony goodies back in the day too, please feel free to share pics!!!!

**waves** Jellybean!!! Welcome back! I'm another ancient who pops in and out across the years. Seems like every time I get back into the pony world, life happens, I'm chasing my tail and have no time for pony luxury. I remember the days of the Dream Castle chat room although I'm pretty sure I went by Taffy then. Then I developed my persona StormChaser, and MustBeJewel made my fab siggy. I remember the hunt for MOC Mimic and enjoyed telling the story of how I'd received her as a birthday gift as a kid, didn't like the jewel eyes, so I took her back to the store and exchanged her for SS Buttons I think. Always crazy to think at one point in my life, I held the holy grail of the G1 world! Welcome back, hope you have better luck at staying active than I seem to lol. Love popping in and reminiscing! I had almost the entire US G1 collection at one time other than those elusive MO's, then sold all but my faves. Did the same with the G3s. A couple of years ago, fell in love with G4s, now my pony cabinet is once again busting at the seams. Other than what I've seen on social media, I have yet to meet the G5s, but I'm intrigued!

Hello!! Thank you! It's true, we had it pretty good back then! I've been seeing a lot of people posting their grail ponies and realizing that they all must only have become harder to find by now.

::waves back:: Hi hi! I'm happy to see fellow ancients! (Sad though that your siggy looks broken for me! It's just a whole lot of code..)
Oh man, MOC Mimic. I wonder how many of her exist on earth now! I've never beheld her MOC but I was super lucky to get a loose Mimic from eBay sometime around 2001. At the time she was going for around $60-$90 if my memory serves (it often doesn't) but I think I snagged her for about $30, which was a big splurge for me, because the scan of her on the image listing made her look faded with irreparably frizzy hair. When I got her in the mail she was flawless!! She had an odor though, so I put some baking soda lumps in her and she wound up stored that way for like 13 years, lol! I just recently dumped the lumps out, and found she has a fine crystalline coat of baking soda on all her internal surfaces. It doesn't seem to have hurt her any, because she's still perfect on the outside with no disease spots, though her plastic could be more firm? Hard to tell. I'm going to leave the dust in there, in case maybe I chanced upon a pony preservation technique. Wish it were easier to test such things! She certainly doesn't have an odor anymore!

I'm glad you've kept your faves and that the franchise keeps bringing you back!

oh man, not a 1999 veteran, but active here for a bit north of a decade :) (waves) welcome back and yeah, when delaneys had to liquidate I totally took the opportunity to travel down to see 'em in person and enjoy that massive pony room as it was being disassembled - those ponies I acquired are some of my most cherished (like venne minty/blossom) today

and yah, don't even get me started on today's prices...

That's awesome! We've been in the same room!
