I won’t link it here because it’s ~slightly~ risqué, but there’s a music video for a Kpop song called Ping Pong by HyunA and Dawn and in it they have all the background dancers wearing dresses with the G1 twinkle eyed ponies on them… it’s just too funny! Has anyone else seen it? It came out a few months ago but I just noticed what they’re wearing in it.

omg, I just looked it up. I thought you meant they were wearing the toys like jewelry (which would be pretty neat), but yeah, there’s plenty of shots of dancers in MLP nighties. But personally? I want this performer’s shirt.

I’m not a big K-Pop listener, but I can totally get behind the visual style in this video. I wanna live on those sets!

I have to agree with you! The sea pony print is so cute…
The entire video is so fun and whimsical, I can see why they used MLP to create that vibe.

It’s cute and fun that they chose to use MLP things in their video. Unfortunately, in doing so they also promoted a brand well known for its with terrible cultural appropriation, design and art theft. :( I wish Hasbro would license higher quality and cute clothing for adults.
Omg I’ll have to look into that! So sad…

Love the aesthetic and the song is a bop! I looked up the lead singers and they're very interesting, they got into a relationship, which got them kicked out of their respective K-pop groups? and went on to sign on with a new label that was more understanding.

(Relationship bans are when performers are banned from being in relationships--or at least admitting it in public--because the labels want their fans to fantasize about marrying them or whatever. Not only is that a weird invasive rule, but it's dumb because we all know fans would fantasize about marrying them anyway.)

Good for them, I hope they continue to do well.

Uhg ive heard about that rule and it’s just creepy, plus I’m sure fans would enjoy seeing cute pics of the idol they like and their boy/girl friend. People always love celebrity relationships
