CONVENTION Pony Friends Forever in San Antonio Tx

Oh wow, nice! I only ever go to one con a year cause they get pretty expensive lol (as in I spend way too much on awesome art and merch in addition to the ticket and travel prices) But that’s awesome that there are so many in your state, I’m in vermont and we only have one single con  How ya gonna do the button eyes?
You would think with my state being just a little southern one we wouldn’t have several conventions. We only have two though that are bigger with more stuff. I’ll spend money, but I budget myself a lot too.

I have two sets of eyes and then a third my friend is making. I have button eyes I made from clay and painted that I can stick on easy enough but seeing is a problem. Then I have a pair of button eye like sunglasses.

I do have a friend making some for me with her Cricut and I think those will work.

What character have you done for your cosplay?

Is anyone that is attending these conventions worried about being the odd one out? I don’t really know people well enough to even have someone to hang out with.

This sounds so fun. I’m so living vicariously through all of you! :p

I know who you are as well now. At first I was just thinking Wysteria from FB, but now I know.
Hehe, yup I spend most of my time on FB/IG but I've been a member of the trade post since 1996/7 so I try to pop in every so often. I definitely miss the fun of the boards. I love how mobile friendly it is now though, much easier to use since I almost never sit on my computer unless I'm printing shipping labels.

Not sure how big our convention will get with this being the first year but just being able to get away will be nice! Now to get my butt in gear and prep for it lol.

It's always a bit nerve racking for me too. Lots of people know me but I don't have a lot of buddies to hang out with. I'm very much an introvert at heart but my job as a retail store manager helps me talk to people. Just smile and say hi, most pony people love to talk once you get us going on the subject of ponies lol.

I think you guys should have a pretty good turn out of the responses it generated before Covid. Now with the fair being the last weekend one I would assume the one you guys have will be the next big one. That’s just assumptions though of course so who knows.

You’re right of course I just have to get together the nerve to talk to people more in person. I always get nervous.

Nice, the glasses sound like a good way to still be able to see :) And good idea setting a budget, lol I try but always go over when I see something I just have to get ^^;
I’ve cosplayed a few characters now, Kari from Digimon, the Tardis, two magical girls  One from Glitter Force and one from Magical DoReMi, the main character from Snow White With the Red Hair, and my favorite, Tohru from Fruits basket:satisfied:

We’ve collectively done ladybug, enderman, technobadle, dream, nightmare, and ranboo.

All of you should know what question comes next! Does anyone have cute pictures?

We can post faces. I have a few of my daughter, but, trust me, you don’t want to see mine. I got called ’old ladybug’. I’ll get a technoblade picture next time she gets dressed up.

I think the closest thing I've ever gotten to cosplay was one Halloween I dressed as a census taker.

Very nice! Is it make up or paint? How did you not smudge it all day? Lol
It’s Mehron body paint and is made for cosplays and special effect type stuff. It’s a body paint but goes in pretty well like make up. Omg, I had to seal it so many times with spray and powder! That’s with like six layers of the color on my face, neck, chest, arms, and legs.

You both look awesome!:D

This is the only one I’ve got on my phone, cause it was the most recent (and also my favorite :satisfied: ) from the anime Fruits Basket. If I find pics of the others I can add them later

Thank you kindly! I don’t have a picture of when I blended her stitches better. The last convention I attended I hurried with them and ended up with smeared ones. It takes forever to do so much blue paint.

Azalea your cosplay is adorable! I should finish watching Fruit Baskets
