After a day of seeing what all my ponies are like in my lightbox, I was looking through my photos when I noticed Guava Lava’s hairline. I noticed last summer that she had strange gunk across it which I managed to scrape some off but I didn’t get all of it. I was too worried to wash it out in case I ruined the nice hairstyle she has going but it’s pretty noticeable now so I’ll have to. Her hair should be easy to get back to that style anyway

I’m pretty sure it’ll be easy to wash out anyway but does anyone know what it’s caused by? I’m assuming maybe glue from underneath or any inside dirt seeping out the plugs but none of my other ponies have this and if their roots happen to be a bit dark, it’s not as bad as Guava’s. The other ponies from the Wonder Waves Surf Shop hasn’t gotten this way either

I don't know what causes it either, but have washed it out. I also got it off once with a plastic paint mixer.... like a little plastic butter knife, and gently scraped it off.

It is odd since it’s only gathered there yet she has such clean and soft hair...

Thank you though, I’ll try to see if I can scrape some more before washing it out :rolleyespony:

I would take her head off and make sure it hasn't spread through out the insides. Then I would stomp it out now in a nice warm Oxi clean bath and a good wash down (with shampoo and conditioner) then throughly allow to dry for a few days so it's less likely to come back in the future.

I’m going to clean out the insides of my ponies who have turntable heads
As for ponies like Guava... theirs can’t turn. I know it’s possible to remove those heads and put them back on but I don’t feel comfortable myself doing that but I managed to wash it off her as best I can

If it gets worse, let me know and I can help with the head and clean out.

Oh, thank you very much! I’ll keep an eye on it :satisfied:

I had that happen with baby applejack it was awful to see that kind of rust. I had to clean her fully she had tons of rust. I still have her kicking around here.
