Pony Room Updates

Ooh a big pony puzzle that you can color sounds awesome! Maybe you’ll make one someday :)
@Tak is now in charge of Hasbro’s MLP merchandising department. Lol

Someone find me some black and white pony art (without stealing from an artist) and I can do the rest!

I can print posters, glue to thick cardstock, and then laser cut the pieces at my makerspace. I can probably use the vinyl cutter to cut the picture side, too, so no char or gaps. Maybe it's time to learn the new cardboard cutter...

I just don't steal from artists, so whatever art we use has to be detailed enough that we don't wind up with hundreds of blank white pieces, and also from someone who gives their permission for it to be used this way. I'll donate my time to making this idea into a thing that exists in the world. I need someone else to find the art, and people who want them to help pay for the materials (cardboard and paper and ink and machine time). I think I can get as big as 3 feet by 4 feet...

Or did I just run off on a wild goose chase?

I’m not sure where we’d find the art but it sounds so cool!

Today I felt like I could tackle the mobile. I've had this thing in a box for a couple years. It was missing a bow piece and needed to be put together. I don't know much about it, must be UK cause of the ponies but was just something I came across on eBay. So I pulled out the scanner and created a new bow, I don't know what color it should be but I chose yellow. The original ones I had were the blue and green. I printed it out on some slightly shiny cardstock that matched the original quite well and was thick enough that doing both sides and gluing them together made it also just as thick as the originals. Once my bow was created I just spent an hour or so tying off lengths of fishing line. Completed it was hard to get a whole picture of because it's so long but it's a little heart, a MLP rainbow banner, the castle and then the bows and ponies. And I apologize for the yellow-ish light in my pony room, I got some old bulbs in there currently.

Omg, is that Rapunzel I see hiding behind that mobile in the Disney Rapunzel Castle dollhouse????

Another update crossed off! It's not like I don't have 50 other things I need to be doing that are more pressing then mess-about-in-pony-room but I finally came across the perfect brackets and down the rabbit hole I went. So without further ado.....poster display!

I've got a handful of "posters" and don't have the room to hang them all individually framed so I put this together as my space saving solution. The clamps are actually for blueprints, builders usually have racks full of them for their projects. You just tighten the clamps on your stack of papers and they hold them. Usually you'd have a bunch of sheets in one but I like being able to just flip them around when I want to look at each one so I only put 1 or 2 per clamp. Then I found the most perfect little hooks to hang the clamps from.
The clamps have places to put blueprint info so I just printed out my poster info instead and placed it in. I've had most of my posters laminated in hopes it will help them hold up but I think this will be even better. I did worry about the clamp leaving a crease so I've sandwiched them between some strips of cardboard. I'm not crazy about the brown cardboard peeking out and down the road if I come across some glossy white covered kind I'll probably swap them out but I like having something keeping the clamps from creating any creases.

Ta-Da!

I love it!

That is an excellent idea for the posters! Never would have thought of something like that.

Okay, shame on me. I really have not made any progress and after having realized that recently in another thread I'm gonna try to get a thing done this weekend. It's a long weekend for me and aside from maybe doing some grilling and smores I don't have much planned. So, I decided to try to make it kinda fun and make myself be accountable I would let you guys pick the next to-do task. I've started a voting thread that will go until Friday night and by Tuesday night I should have the thing done *hopefully*

Well, I guess the accountability motivated me! I'll have to let you guys vote again next time I have a free weekend on the next project (I even added some more). I had to make 3 more risers to finish off my shelves. I make them out of foam, covered in fabric. I just barely had enough to get them done but it was enough. Now all shelves can have multiple rows :) I tried to leave space for future ponies but it's pretty snug in there.
