Thanks for the merge!!!
Editing to fit things into the first post better.

Hey guys. It's been a while since I've been around (it's been years...) After my dad gave me a load of G3 ponies that I don't actually collect I decided it was time to come back here to offer the pony bounty to others, and to sort through the boxes of duplicates I already have in storage.
I find myself very out of touch with what ponies are rare, what ponies are worth.

I have managed to identify the G3 ponies thanks to Strawberry Reef (Thanks to everyone who suggested it!)
I am working on making a list of the G1 and G2 ponies right now.

Does anyone have any sites that are good for figuring out what ponies (G1, G2 and G3 mostly) are the rare ones?
Ways to figure out pricing besides having to look every pony up on ebay?
At the very least would anyone be willing to look at the lists that I'm compiling of them all and let me know if I have any gems that should be higher priced?

It's definitely worth sorting through for he harder to find ones. Some of them are going for quite a bit lately.

Oh yeah! I primarily collect G3s, so there's definitely a market for them.

Hey all. I have a bunch of G3 ponies that I plan to put up for sale in the near future.
Is there a good site for IDing them?
Anything for pricing?
I have no idea which ones are common etc. G3 is not my expertise at all.

Strawberry Reef is good for identifying. It also has a price guide, but I don’t recommend it because it hasn’t been updated in years. Unfortunately, I don’t know where you can find a price guide that’s more up to date.

Got them all IDed...need pricing? I don't know who is common and who is not.

Winter ponies (couldn’t recognize any by name in your list!) are worth a fair bit (especially early years!)
One that really stood out in your list was Port-o-bella, who is quite uncommon/sought after. eBay results weren’t many, so maybe ask around for a G3 expert?
The rest would be considered common, and would go for about $3-$5, maybe the charm adds up a bit more?
I’m interested in a couple though! I’ll PM you when you get the pricing sorted (or if you’re willing to trade?)

Feel free to pm me. I am willing to take offers too. :) can also take pictures.

Honestly, you can enter each name into an eBay search and then check the sold listings to see what they've gone for recently. Tedious, but useful. I agree with strawberryreef.com for identifying. It's price guide isn't good, but can help show which are htf.

I find myself very out of touch with what ponies are rare, what ponies are worth, and the best sites for finding names etc. (The site I remember I can't find on google anymore. It was for mostly G1 IDing and I think it was by somebody named Kim maybe?)

Strawberry Reef is a pretty good source for G3 ponies for me and has a G3 price guide for a few ponies (although I don't know how recent it is). I also use My Little Wiki for identification a lot, it has some really good info on accessories and release years and such.

Strawberry Reef hasn't been updated in ages. It was last updated in 2015.

However, with people who decide to price gouge on ponies you would want to look up the sold listings on eBay. You may have to spend oodles of time look up some of them anyway because there are variants of some ponies (i.e. the ridiculous amount of Pinkie Pies and most of the later Core 7 that exist out there).

The ponies themselves are one thing, the condition of them is another and can affect the price. Rubbed/blemished factory paint, dry hair, stains, marker marks, cut hair, bubbles or other factory imperfections in the vinyl, etc etc, can also affect how much some may be willing to pay for a pony. Obviously, new in box ponies tend to be higher priced, but I've even had SUPER imperfect ponies that are still in the package, so the collector's value took a dive.

I think what Sweet Daes means is that if you look up say, Blossomforth, on Ebay, you will first only be shown active listings. Since sellers can price listings however they want (some price-gouging*, as she said) and you might see a listing for a $50 Blossomforth, but no one will ever pay that and it is not an accurate value. But when you click the Sold Listings check box on the lower left hand side, you will only be shown the prices for Blossomforth ponies which have actually been sold and paid for. The Sold listings, therefore, are where your far more accurate appraisal will be found. ;)

As far as price guides in general, I find them to easily become outdated or inaccurate, as the market of any vintage collectibles has its peaks and valleys and changing flow over time. In my personal opinion (and everyone is more than welcome to do as they prefer), I always research prices for my ponies right when I'm selling them.

*for clarification: "Price gouging is a term referring to when a seller spikes the prices of goods, services or commodities to a level much higher than is considered reasonable or fair, and is considered exploitative, potentially to an unethical extent."

@MustBeJewel has explained it better, @Tak .

Listings can be auto-relisted at the same price so you don't necessarily know how long something has been listed/re-listed at the price it was first entered consecutively unless you do digging and add that to your calculation.

Completed will show both sold and unsold listings that ended. On any browser you can Ctrl/Cmmd+F on the page to search for any of these to get to the section:
