I got princess dawn from an opshop years ago. She lived in the crowded box along with all the other ponies until recently. She has now been cleaned, hair washed, tail washer replaced and I even managed to steal a little purple from some other ponies and rehair her forelock (not tinsel though). But can I do anything further about the frizz? Or do I just practice curing and boiling until I get it lol. Also, how would you repair her cutie mark and what do you do for insanely stubborn marker under hooves? I've already tried nail polish remover, alcohol, magic erasers..

I've had success with the flat iron too. I soak the hair really good with a hair product that helps condition it and protect it from the heat.

I've had great success with a hair straightener. The tips don't really straighten 100%, but it works really well on the rest of the hair and on tinsel. I have a hair straightener that is infused with macadamia, argan Oil & keratin, so, according to the manual you shouldn't use it on wet hair. I wash and condition the hair before the treatment, and let it dry before I straighten it. The lowest setting on my hair straightener is 110° which seems safe. But if you use an uncoated straightener I suppose it's better to use it on wet hair with conditioner in it, as others have said.

What they said ^ ;) Just be sure to not melt the tinsel. If the silver finish came off her jewel, there are paints you can use or silver leaf which is such a pain to work with. As for the marker, if you’ve tried the usual methods, magic eraser, acetone, oxyclean, etc, then wrap her up with only the bottom of that hoof showing and sunfade. Be sure to check mlppreservationproject and Skybreeze my have some good information, too.

Thank you guys

I don't have a flat iron but I have tried with a normal iron, lots of moisture, conditioner, etc. I had some success but still always retains a bit of fizz.

I guess what I am wondering too is when would you guys call it quits and be happy with the result? I am almost happy with how she is looking which is a massive amount better than when I got her. But just curious as to when others are happy with their ponies and what level of fizz you find acceptable.

The tiny little jewels in the cutie mark have discoloured (and actually look melted on one side). I'll investigate paint @Tak :) might see if I can find little jewels to fix up too.
