Rain's Pony and Story Art Thread

I love these all. (Including the descriptions.) I think they are so striking and evoke emotion in the viewer.

I've never done anything for pride month before, and I've really not ever made a point to talk about it or share it much either... I've been trying to share it a little bit more openly in certain spaces over the past couple of months or so, but I guess this is an official "coming out" for me.

>///> Either way, happy pride month, everyone~ I hope you like this little animation I made of Star Fantasy.
Cute animation, I love it! The smoothness in the movement is great!

I’m the same, I’ve never done anything for Pride or made point to talk or share much either. I’ve been trying to be more open the last couple of months too having finally come out to my family. It was the hardest thing ever to do but here I am, I’m still around and I am feeling a bit more better with myself now

Star Fantasy is such a cute unicorn and I love seeing her about. Fantasy has such a gentle feel about their design, your style is wonderful. I feel a Dream Beauty custom would be perfect :ponylove:

Thank you!

That's definitely worth celebrating. c: I ended up talking to my family about it a while back as well, so they know, but it ultimately didn't really make me feel any better about it. My family makes me very anxious anyway, and while they've always been pro-bi, they've been a lot less accepting of anything else a lot of the time. They were chill about it when I talked to them, but it feels like holding my breath and waiting for the other shoe to drop, so I still avoid talking to them any further anyway.

Aw, thank you! I'd not even considered what she would look like as a dream beauty, I like that idea. I would have to find a really baity white one. I have, however, had a sweetheart sister custom in my sights for a while~

What do those flags stay for? I can only recognise one, and googling had brought nothing ><'

That's okay, one of them is super duper niche. ^^; One is the ace flag, I'm sure it's the one you recognized. The other is a demivoid flag, specifically a version someone on reddit had made that I happened to like.

Every now and again it comes to the surface, the way I feel watching what my life was supposed to be escape me further, as time leaves me behind. I can have no pride for that which keeps me from even my simplest dreams. Shame, hopelessness, desperation, and anger, but not pride. I fought so hard to keep this life, and I keep fighting, yet I fear it won't amount to anything.

That is the disability pride flag.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of Posty. She's supposed to be a personification of the forum, but there are quite a few reasons why I think she doesn't work very well. The main thing for me is that she's less of a "personification of the forum" and more a "personification of the default site theme." While a theme does a lot to influence the mood of a site and its community, the theme isn't really the only thing that defines it. I think more thought should have been put into this character, and the colors used for her. Like while I recognize that pink is a part of the site theme, and it's used in a lot of ponies, how many people here actually like pink? I feel like leaning into pink is leaning into the stereotype surrounding MLP, and doesn't reflect the nature or diversity of our community.

Not to mention that as an earth pony she's completely generic... I understand the merits of keeping a mascot generic, but I wonder if that was really the right choice. Without any community feedback though, we'll not know.

But... setting a lot of that aside, I had nothing better to do really so I thought I would make my own redesign based around the site theme. The catch is that... my default site theme looks a little different, since I use a dark theme extension. So this is my Dark Theme "Posty".

And this is what the site actually looks like to me, for reference:

Minty green/blue and pink is my favorite color combo so I’m a big fan of her color scheme. Plus about half my wardrobe is different shades of pink, so I at least do like the color pink :)
Your celestial pony take on her is cute too, nice job
