I warned the vet that the cat I was brining in for blood work is a monster at the vet so she'd probably need the angry cat gloves and several people to hold him, and when I went to pick him up she was holding him like a baby while he purred and drooled on her. WTF cat?
I remember when I was in high school, I dropped my deranged cat off at the vet for a procedure and would pick her up later. After an hour the vet called in desperation. She got loose from her cage, she was running, hissing, clawing and doing the cat scream. No one at the vets office could catch her because, she was fierce and fought them off. "please help us with your cat." I remember my thoughts. "a vet can't catch a cantankerous cat?" disbelief.
I walk into the vet and ask where my cat is in the office. They take me to a large operating room where one guy has a towel and the other a broom. I am like, good grief people no wonder. Oh and the tech says, "be careful she will really hurt you." I looked at her and said, "she isn't going to hurt me." I walked over, kneeled down and called her, "Stinker baby come on mommas here." With that she ran to me. I picked her up off the floor and said, "I think you guys need to go back to school." Their mouths were on the floor. We left. Stinker got her name for a reason. She was a Stinker. An abandoned stray I found in the street before she was weaned. A little love is what she needed. Not someone with a broom and towel.
In your cats case, Skeen, I feel she felt safe and liked the person she was with. Cats are notorious for picking favorites and all others are enemies. My Lou had to have a little gas when at the vet if they were going to mess with him much. He was terrified. They could have given her something too. With Lou I tried to tell the vet to gas him before grooming him. Vet didn't listen. When I arrived to pick him up, I said where is Lou? "Oh he is still asleep we had to gas him, boy he is impossible to groom." Yep thought so. LOL
