I'm fine with G3s unless I buy a few together - although the Birthstone ponies didn't present as much of a problem as I was expecting :)
G1s can be a problem, I know all the names but have trouble linking them to certain ponies. Mainly the ballerinas, pretty ponies and sweetheart sister prom queens, but I would be able to list all the names, I did have a list with the pony colour beside the name but I still don't recognise them without the list - I must be getting old

I've given up on G3s. Too many to remember.
I'm pretty good with G1s.

My absolute worst one: I own Sparkler. My brain is convinced her name is Dazzler.

I only know the most popular G1 ponies (Firefly, Glory, etc.) as well as the ones I had as a child. G3 ponies, I just know most of the ones I own. Even then I had to look a few up when I was compiling a list of the ones I wanted to get rid of.

I remember the names to every US G1 adult pony...most of the babies, and some internationals. I'm not as good at the babies because I prefer adults. Also, re-using names like Baby Gusty really messed with my head. I have the hardest time keeping that all straight. I know ONE g2 name: Ivy. As for the G3's, I pretty much only know the names of about 20, as I don't collect many of them. I used to have my G1's in alphabetical order. If I forgot a name, it was pretty easy to figure it out based on the pony on each side of the one I couldn't remember.

I know most of the G1 names, but I'm horrible with the G3's. The very early ones I can remember, but other than that, there's just way too many and they come out so fast... I just can't keep up. That's why I stopped collecting them, too >.<

I used to be able to rattle off G3 names at the drop of a hat, but there are so many now that it's becoming difficult to remember names. I can still remember the older G3s, but I'm stuggling with most of the new ones.

I know most names of the first years of G1s, but once it starts to get into Year 7, I start to fall apart. :p

Hi there,

I'm so great at remembering the names of the ponies I have. Never forgotten one. Never will. ;)

I think maybe it's because I used to (and still sorta' do) collect Puppy in my Pocket - a toy of the early 90's. I have over 100 and I still know all of their names. ;)

It's funny though. Whenever people come over and look at my collection, they'll pick one up and say: "What's this one's name?" and I'll name it. Then they'll pick up some more and ask the names. They think it's so amazing that I remember them all. :p

Suprisingly I remember most if not all of them, once in awhile though my mind will go blank and I will have to go look it up on Ponytopia or ask my daughter.
The two I had the hardest with were Rainbow Dash and Rainbow Flash, I think their names were just too close.

I'm very good with the G3s; I very rarely mix ponies up. The G1s trip me up. Then again, I have trouble with names in general--I remember looks/faces before names.

I actually don't have much trouble with most of them. My G1s I could remember when I dragged the storage box out, after four or five years. And I still know pretty much all the G1 names. For G3s, I remember up to about Butterfly Island - that's the point where I started leaving them in the box to prepare for my move. So I haven't really "bonded" with them yet.
