I recenthy recieved a so soft satin n lace and to my surprise while looking closer on the flocking loss from her hoof and ear. It looks magenta colour..

This got me curious and thinking was there a majenta satin n lace offered in any of the brocures or flyers.

Personally the brocures I have only show so soft satin n lace. I am not sure on lavendar. Did not maybe she was offered in the satin n lace brousure where she was not offered as a so soft.

1. Magenta is she a fluke, where a shipment box load missed flocking process. ?
2. Magenta was sent out without flocking to save on material, and expenses ?
3. Magenta a foren pony made for other countries ?
4. Magenta but the glue was poor quality causing flocking loss to be easy. The company remidy this with a better stronger glue ?
5. Magetna was sent out this way because hasbro thought kids will like her better this way ?

So many question kind of cool to think about the possibilities, what is you're input on this crazy cool mystery.

I think it was the 1st one, would be kind of fun if it was true, making her a super mail order rare :)

All fun debates and cool inputs are welcome, even photos of her mip if you like to share

I thought it would be kind of fun to post it here. This is a chance for the tp members here to get a cool fun challenge debate going.

Please feel free to post you're opinion on this maybe someone has their own theory they like to share..

If not that is cool. In regards to the arena post. that is old news, and in the past, time to let it go, and move on to a new fun friendly debate please :)

Let the fun debate continue ;)

I'm not looking to cause trouble but you have previously posted this on the Arena and you did it looking for attention and delibrately tried to get people to bite and i think it got locked from memory?

You were told repeatedly on the Arena that the pony exists, that is wasn't made in another country etc and wouldn't listen and kept baiting other posters. You were shown brochures and I think MIP pix so why would you ask again unless you are looking for attention?

I think we're supposed to be letting the original poster have a fresh start, as all the other posts bringing up this fact were deleted.

Ok, where to start. Firstly, let me excuse if my post is a little wordy, but I have a hard time grasping what you are asking exactly, so I'm taking it step by step.

To my knowledge, all So Softs have white fur coat making them look a lot lighter in color than they are. The underlying color of the plastic is always very heavy, bright if you will, as to be able to shine through the white fur. Ergo, don't be surprised - she'd have to be a heavy pinky color as to come out looking like she does as a So Soft.

There is, to my knowledge, no Magenta SnL as we know her, depicted in any known brochures or pamphlets; Instead the version in question looks to be a Cotton Candy (in the brochures we do know of), but it is far from uncommon of Hasbro to have depicted upcoming offers or releases as looking like one thing, then change the looks completely when they came out. This is in fact still happening with the G3s and the new HUB ponies and so on.

I am pretty positive that there would have to have been some form of official picture of Magenta SnL as we know her, since she was sold with Tux as a set, once he'd been introduced to the market. It's just a matter of when we'll find that picture, but who knows, maybe it will never appear. For the most part, Hasbro really liked to depict the ponies as drawings rather than use real photos as well.

I'm not sure I understand this above, but if I have to pick one of these, I'd say no. 5.
I think SnL was intended to be this girly, romantic pony, hence the soft lavender version. So Softs were popular, so naturally Hasbro would contemplate making her in a fuzzy version as well (whose underlying color would have to be vibrant), in which they discovered how good she looked as a dark pink pony and realized she'd be as big a hit as the light version SnL.

Also, since some ponies' releases were planned years in advance, it's highly likely that once they decided on the color of Tux N Tail, they made a more vibrantly colored SnL to suit him in future special offers and the later released set.

I think it was the 1st one, would be kind of fun if it was true, making her a super mail order rare

That is a pleasant thought, yes, especially if you happen to own the SnL version you are questioning, but alas, based on what the general collecting community know, she's not rare for any other reason that she's one of the 3 mail-order versions, the mail-order status, and the fact that it was random which version you were sent (to my knowledge), being the only thing(s) to make her rare.

Now if you actually had a SnL in the depicted collector's pose.. that would be a rarity!

yeah, I didn't really want to say anything at first... but all I could think of when I read this is "of course she is a magenta color where she lost flocking"
basically every SS pony is vibrant underneath all that fuzz...

Wow silly billy I never thought of that it would be quite rare indeed if the flat foot pony was the bride. Awsome point.
I also never knew tux and satin to be sold as a set through the mail order. That sounds even rarer to see..

Being a collector community, anyone like to share their opinion as well.

Does anyone rember what satin n lace you ordered as a child. Do you rember getting one.

From what i read, One person rembered ordering rapunsel and getting goldilocks in the mail instead because rapunsels supply ran out =)

If you have photos please share. They will be kind of cool to see.

Please continue to share you're view everyone welcome to share their view and opinion :)

Well, I have all three versions of Satin and Lace, none of which are from my childhood. I ordered them all from ebay as I got back into collecting when I was 13. I do however still have my childhood Tux N Tails. So apparently you could order them seperately.

I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting for that one, but that is what is so wonderful about collecting things, i.e. MLP. There is always the odd chance that something shows up which no one has seen before.

I saw pictures of a Pony meet a while back, with some of the Hasbro creators/designers from the 80s, showing off some of the original molds and some protoype ponies, that was saved from being re-melted and made into new ponies. I doubt she exists, this FF/CF posed SnL, but you never know... maybe she is standing proudly in some Hasbro co-worker's home.

Well I could be wrong, and anyone who know better are free to correct me, but I am pretty sure they were, and yes, through mail-order. SnL was sold seperately through MO for a few years before Tux came along, then Tux was sold seperately and together with SnL to my knowledge.

The reason probably being that the day of the So-Soft ponies had passed, so Hasbro simply defaulted her back to being NSS, but kept the magenta body for whatever reason. She isn't a Euro pony and definitely is not the result of flocking falling off. I bought someone's childhood collection once and it included a NSS magenta Satin 'n Lace . . . Very lovely.

I suspect the collector pony posing as Satin 'n Lace in that one brochure was Cotton Candy. She had Cotton Candy's body color and eye color. Let's face it, Hasbro's brochures are not always accurate when it comes to color, pose, or even gender of ponies.

Tux n tails & satin n lace were sold as individual i remember sending in horse shoe points for each pony lol i was told dabble, cupcake, sweetcake & goldilocks were sold out :( at the time i tried to order lol but good news i was able to add those ponies to my collection especially here in the last 2 months so im happy camper. Satin n lace magenta is not easy i keep getting outbidded but i will get her lol and she was real another pony i was told was sold out when i tried to order her.
