The camera is really picking up the pink stripe in her eyes, but her eyes are pink and purple. The pony this custom is based on has solid purple eyes that match her hair.

Um, hmm. I may have accidentally caused a misunderstanding. What I am making is definitely accurate to her design, I'm straying from her original design as little as possible. She did originate from G1, but not in the way that you think.

Hehe, it is a pretty tough one. I didn't really think about it too much going into this because it's a pony I'm very familiar with, but the more I actually considered it the more I realized. I'm so glad you're having fun though!

I have no idea what the comics were actually like so I have no idea if there’s any random background ponies

I've had the chance to read many of the official G1 comics, I don't believe there were any ponies exclusive to them. They were all ones that were recognizable as figures. They're pretty interesting though, worth looking into. They're very different from the show.
 
I would like to have a chance to read the comics if I could find somewhere to read all of them and not just random pages. I’m sure I’ll get round to it sometime

Honestly I don't think they follow any kind of cohesive story, they're all very small, self-contained stories as far as I've seen. I've not been able to read all of them either, of course.

She is NOT a(n) official/canon pony!

Returning to my whole thing about not thinking much about how difficult this would be beforehand. It's definitely a challenge, however I still believe it will be possible to figure out who she is.
