Stormy and Lonely

So it's cold and stormy and wet outside. I'm not sure how much longer we will have power. The baby is sleeping and my husband is at work. So I just thought I would pop in and see what everyone was up to?

I've got a desk full of customs that need finishing and I'm totally not ready for Christmas. I think I'm going to need to start Christmas stuff in January from now on. All my sympathy to Santa Claus. But then again, he has elves to help him.

Anyone want to be my elf and come do all the re-hairing for me? J/K

So, does anyone have any new pictures of customs or collections or whatever they would like to show off? Seriously, I'll happily discuss anything right now. I'm feeling a little cabin crazy.

Hello. I remember living in Oregon when I was a kid and being snowed in and everything. Beautiful outside, but such a pain in butt to scrape the driveway everyday. We finally gave up scraping the driveway and decided to just walk to school.

I'm beat! I spent the whole day cooking and cleaning for a get together I had tonight. Few friends and my mom came over for my annual wrapping party. It was fun but my feet are killing me! Most my presents are under the tree though which is nice!

Much like Gingerbread, I've had an exhausting day of cooking, decorating, and cleaning, and my feet are okay but my back is not at all happy. I might just crawl into bed any minute now!

Marble Dragon, we are actually having issues with a wind storm of all things. Sadly nothing as awesome as snow, but just as dangerous. Quite a few trees have fallen and taken out power lines, some transformers have blown, and street lamps seem to really be swaying. So we can go out, but it's a really bad idea to do so right now.

I love the look of that Ice Crystal Repro you are doing! Looks great so far! I am impressed that you are stripping that other pony to redo her. I've had to do that before and I'm having to do it again to one of my first customs. I'm sure it will look great when it's done.

Gingerbread, it sounds like you had an awesome party! nice! I am so far behind on presents. we have a few under the tree, but most of our shopping hasn't even been done yet, thanks in part to a week long illness I'm at the tail end of. Now this storm is getting in the way too! I'm totally happy and jealous of you having all your gifts wrapped and under the tree.

MustBeJewel, You got to bake today too? I didn't get to bake. I did get to dig out candles, make sure we have bottled water, and I did get a little bit of painting done on one pony. I never new how hard it was to paint a decent strawberry till now.

Ah Nichi~ I was in that same storm last night I think. Was out Christmas shopping in it x.x It was kinda scary, the wind was rattling the car, when I was waiting out in it in a parking lot~ Then on the freeway, we drove at low speed in the slow lane. Had both my kidlets with me, so I was supported the driver by saying "if all those people want to pass us, let them drive far away from us where they can be stupid on their own, far away from harming us."

It was stressful driving in that storm~

Currently on my work table is a custom that will be Lightning Ferron from Final Fantasy 13
For the project, around October I went through and did paint jobs on 3 customs all at once, then did all of their hair jobs at once, then set them aside as I juggled projects and came back to them and finish them.

I've juggled through enough that I've worked up the motivation to do this one now, the time is right. She is going to be very challenging, as my leather armor customs are the most time-consuming and impressive of my works.

In this photo is the base of the custom that's about to get her armor crafted. I have a old pattern of the armor in the plastic bag in front of her, that I created back in summer of 2012 when I had 2 other commission inquiries for this exact design.

This design will be improved enough, that I'll be tweaking/down-sizing parts of the armor.
Behind her, you can see a wax paper cut out of a pattern I used for a recent moogle hat accessory commission that will be an accessory to this full custom once she's completed.

Oh, and a bowl of cereal. XD I've been having flank pain (I usually exhibit it when a bladder or kidney infection occur) >___< so I slept in later than usual today to try and feel better... and... noms on work table may happen during such times lol
