Sudsy’s Pony Spa Restorations

Your restorations are so good! :Flutter4:

I have a question about babies ponies but I’m not so sure who to ask but since yours is a good example I’ll ask you,

With some baby ponies in restoration I see some with a white dot on the bridge of their noses (like in your first picture with Tassles). I’m not sure if these are like one last remaining freckle or not and I’m sure I’ve seen people remove them in cleaning. I’m not sure if in your picture it’s just the light or a mark? Are there baby Bowties like this with freckles?

Thank you!

Admittedly, I don't know all that much about My Little Pony as a whole. My obsession with ponies is fairly recent, and my familiarity with G1 stems mostly from the 1986 My Little Pony Movie. So, I am not that knowledgable about the different variations of baby ponies (yet).

From my research while restoring Bow, I do not believe this particular variation had freckles. The spot you are seeing is the light reflecting off some kind of old adhesive or something like that. It was clear and shiny, not white, and it came off during the cleaning process. I don't know about other baby ponies being prone to having that same spot, where it comes from, or exactly what it is. From images I found Google surfing, I believe there is a version of Baby Bow Tie that has three freckles on the nose, but it is not this one.

Sudsy they look beautiful! Baby Bowtie is so bright and happy!

I checked my Baby Bowtie because I thought I remembered her with freckles, and she doesn't have them! :0

The good news is, Wind Whistler’s dye job seems to have taken well and I am happy with the color (it's lighter than it looks; it's just dark in my bathroom haha)

The bad news is, my idea to use Vaseline to keep the dye from leeching into the flocking did not work rofl

Oh, crud!! Is there a way to get the dye back out of the flocking??

I am going to try a couple of different things, starting with just very thoroughly washing those spots to see if I can get the dye to fade a bit. I don't mind making these mistakes with my own ponies cause I learn from it and get to try new things. I am not a collector who wants perfect ponies. I like them as an art medium. I will keep this thread updated with what I try and how it goes and hopefully other people can learn from me lol.
