so i don't have a picture but long story short, when i first started collecting g1 ponies, i didn't quite understand how to do things. the first pony i got from the 80s was powder, but the plug thing connecting her head to her body had ripped, so i ended up super-gluing her head back to the plug...while it was still in the body. looking back later, i didn't even realize that there were lines showing how the head was supposed to be angled though, and the poor thing looks just a tad awkward now!!

my thought is i'm going to submerge her in hot water to soften up the glue, but i was wondering for future reference if anybody knows better alternatives for super glue so this doesn't happen again!!

You dont have to use anything heavy duty, basic tacky glue will do just fine! :redheart: Its always best to use something that will hold fine but come off easily with hot water if you need to clean the inside of the pony one day. Anything very permanent is usually not recommended.

Im not sure if hot water will loosen super glue, it may but removing the glue might be an issue. They make super glue remover but Ive never used it on a pony so someone else will have offer their experience with that. Be careful if you use any chemical remover keep it away from the factory paint. :winkpony:

If the hot water doesn't work you can remove super glue with acetone. You do need to be careful not to get it on the eyes and symbols since it can damage or remove them. I recommend working in small sections with a blunt tool, like a modeling clay sculpture tool, to work it into the seam. Make sure you wash the acetone off completely cause it can cause damage to the plastic if left long enough.

Last resort you can use an exacto knife lol.

An exact knife dipped in acetone was gonna be my suggestion :)
