This spring I started hunting for Twinkle Eye Brighteyes to add to my personal collection.

First one I bought appeared to just have a forelock missing. I was prepared to fix it but ebay seller was nonresponsive and never shipped.
Had to get a refund.

There's one up on ebay but upon closer inspection it has brown breakdown spots.

Posted in facebook groups, 2 different people offered me nothing but... More Brighteyes with brown breakdown spots.

Found one on etsy, thought it just had a chewed ear so I was going to commission a restore artist to fix it.

....seller issued me a full refund upon shipping it out cause they discovered it had pen markings.

So I got a free pony but when it arrived it was also STICKY and I could see a dang brown break down spot forming.

So it's fully baity.

Are there any decent condition Brighteyes out there or do just about all of them have plastic deterioration issues?

Or am I the only one being dealt this hand of badluck with this one pony? Lol

I gotta ask The Universe. Or Pony Universe perhaps

Unfortunately, Bright Eyes is difficult to find without plastic deterioration issues or brown spots. In my personal collection I have one that is nearly perfect. She does have the beginnings of some brown spots, but they are more yellowish at the moment. Some ponies are just more prone to it than others. I have had many comes through my hands.

I just sold one about a month ago and was given a neutral on eBay, because although I described her accurately, apparently I didn't give a good enough description in the title of the eBay auction. And the buyer I guess only read the title and didn't read the description until after the auction. And I guess that's my fault somehow. But with 35-year-old ponies, you're going to have issues. And Bright Eyes has hers. I think most of the twinkle eye ponies have this issue, actually, especially Party Time and Masquerade.

Sorry to hear about that ebay transaction. :(
I usually examine photos as closely as possible and if something arrives with something I didn't expect on it, I re-examine the photos and description.
So far I ovef look stuff from time to time but I deal with it such as restore

Good to know though that this particular pony is just prone to the brown spots.

Maybe I'd be best to just make myself a custom or salvage the baity one best I can

Yeah, it does seem like the twinkle eyes discolor commonly. I know I had a hard time finding a good Tic Tac Toe, Quackers, and the ones bluerose mentioned, all of them just seem to inherit it

That's good to know though. I'm glad I got this insight so I can be more realistic about my search. .
