The GOOD news thread

We got some new fruit trees to plant and our little seeds are starting to sprout. I'm having to watch two of the older trees because the two pony stallions (Studmuffin and Tag-a-long Tulu) ate a lot of their bark off. I hope they can survive it. The new trees are 4 different varieties of figs. I'm hoping to still score persimmon and black walnut trees. We have tons of pecans, so we get an over abundance of them (and I don't even like 'em!)
You don't like pecans?! That's it! When your next harvest comes around, send 'em my way!!!

I've got good news... or it is for us. My girl had to take those standardized tests. There's one for math and one for reading that covers reading, writing, comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling. My sweet little weird girl tested at high school level in the reading portion. That's the highest the measure goes at this point, and she's the highest in the district. For math, which she very much dislikes, not creative enough, she tested at an end of sixth grade, ready for seventh grade level, which is right where she should be since she's in excel 5th grade. Since the rest of the year will most likely be online, most of their final grades will be based on those last tests, so, yay Eevee!

Congratulations, that is great! What A Smart Daughter You Have!!!

Great job Eevee!!!! And yes, a weekend without internet was enlightening. I'd think, "oh, I wonder if...." and then I was like, dang! I can't Google right now LOL but I did find plenty of stuff to keep me busy and got quite a bit done.

Sometimes a short disconnect can be nice. I'm glad you're back, though, especially since you've got a box coming. ;)

Remind me come pecan season and I'll pick ya a pile o' nuts! We have so many trees we leave a lot on the ground, because we can't use/give away enough!

I am off my knee scooter and in a boot. One more month and I am free. Woot.

What a fantastic idea, Gingerbread. I’ve felt weighed down with negativity at every turn lately.

I’m happy to hear about anything positive my pony peeps are experiencing.

Thrilled to hear about Evvee.

In the worst week of my life, I’ve found some positives. I received a heartfelt apology from an inmate at work who had been giving me grief. I had several co-workers and inmates notice I wasn’t right and ask me if I was alright. My dear neighbour made me muffins after my 16 hour shift. I received my swap box with a beautiful, handmade card containing words of hope.

Best of all, I posted here about the lowest point in my life and I found understanding and friendship at a time when I need it most.

I think we all just need to hear positive things now. Even though many of us could go on about the negative stuff we're dealing with it's nice to have a place to just focus on the good, even if it's just small things!
Congrats @Ology on kicking the scooter :p but that's just a phrase, don't kick it for real LOL
and @Cactusflower I'm glad you're seeing that others do think and care about you, it's hard to notice things like that when you're hurting. It's good that you can see that and know people care about you!

I for one am excited about getting my prize package for the fundraiser! I got some cute goodies made by our @CJ Thimble Bright heading my way :)

I’ve been going through all my old photos and came across one of my absolute favourites. I remember doing this and my mom helping me do it. Looking back at these old memories definitely brought back a lot of fun and laughter today.

Cookie to whom ever can guess which of these are still with me today. (Hint 5 of them survived 30+ years with me.)

I am so happy tonight! Backstory: last week I taught my first 2 days of online, virtual ballet classes. I teach for 5 hours straight each day I teach. There was some glitches, the kids couldn't always hear me and the music. And on the second day, because I essentially had to yell for students to hear me, my had a terrible pain in my throat by the end of classes.

I knew I needed a solution. But I'm really not very technologically minded most of the time...

BUT!! I found a bluetooth head set I completely forgot I owned! Played around with it a bit, having my hubby make sure it worked enough he could hear me through the other side of the virtual platform. And today I got the settings right so students could hear me and the music at the same time!! Yay! It worked! 5 hours of virtual ballet classes that had not technical glitches at all! God is good!

Now I just may need another headset that has a slightly longer battery life...

I just got a letter telling me my student loans were forgiven I am so happy.

Completely forgiven?! Or just in deferment during the current crisis?

If they are forgiven, gone, no more, that is AMAZING! Congratulations!
Completely forgiven

@Ology that is amazing news. Mine isn't as good. Just dance 2020 on the switch is giving free unlimited access. It's Ubisoft that's giving anyone with the game and an account free access until further notice.
