Exciting!! Now just to dig up the correct ponies from the collection for a nice photo :twinkler:

What represents the fall season for me is trick or treating I absolutely love to go trick or treating even though I'm an adult I love dressing up so and getting free candy another thing that represents fall that I had to include is the changing of the leaves it's a very big part of my life because I was born in November. And I know my birthday is getting really close when the leaves start to fall off the trees. And I actually got abracadabra for my 7th birthday so she actually is a very big part of my life

Halloween 100% represents autumn for me. :pumpkin::greenheart: I love noticing the leaves change, looking at people’s Halloween decorations, helping my mom decorate (we are the ones that keep the holiday spirit alive in my family ), and, of course, Halloween night. This photo is a throwback to 2023 Halloween—Whistle Wishes was my buddy that year.

This year marks my first autumn residing with my parents at their log cabin in Maine, following my recent relocation from Massachusetts. My mother takes great care in decorating both the interior and exterior of our home, displaying remarkable creativity and attention to detail.

As I settle in, I am unpacking my belongings at a measured pace due to a sprained ankle and strained muscles sustained during the move, necessitating a gradual approach and frequent use of ice. I am particularly eager to assemble my craft island table, previously used as a kitchen island, so I can commence work on pony-themed Halloween costumes and capture festive photographs.

I look forward to receiving my first swap box here and sharing the unboxing experience with my mother, as well as observing the creativity displayed by other participants through their posted updates. There is genuine enjoyment in seeing the variety of items exchanged.

The transition from Massachusetts, where only a few trees had begun to change colour, has allowed me to appreciate the full display of autumn foliage in Maine. The scenic views from hilltops, overlooking colourful valleys framed by the Appalachian Mountains, are truly impressive.

My mother has expressed her happiness that I will be present for Thanksgiving this year. I also anticipate participating in holiday traditions, especially as I enjoy cooking and baking. Recently, we prepared a cookie recipe shared by my friend and former neighbour—walnut and coconut cookies for my father, and chocolate chip cookies for my mother and myself. The recipe has been well received and is already being circulated among family members.

Spring and autumn remain my preferred seasons, as I appreciate the cooler temperatures and vibrant transformation of the trees. Additionally, these periods offer excellent opportunities for birdwatching; today, I observed a yellow-bellied sapsucker—a rare sight for me. I hope to encounter more new or seldom-seen bird species this autumn. Over a week ago, my parents spotted a bull moose crossing the field nearby, and I am hopeful that I may have the chance to observe one in the wild for the first time.

WARM DRINKS! I really love hot chocolate and hot cocoa, I am like a connoisseur of it XD and when the weather starts getting colder, it’s nice to have hot drinks to warm you up  Maybe with a favorite book or a cozy video game? Tonight I’ve made some hot chocolate, though we’ve also gotten apple cider this week and that has been pretty good too! I’ve liked heating it on the stove and then sprinkling in some cinnamon  Here’s some wingers with my drinks! (That High Flyer is a rehair but Little Flitter is official so she should count for the “official” pony criteria, haha). For some reason the wingers always speak to me when I wanna sit down to read with snacks or drinks
IMG_8270.jpeg

I also love Halloween as it’s my favorite holiday and I love building costumes, but I opted to take a picture of the drinks instead because our house is in disarray so I don’t wanna mess with the costume fabrics for a photo right now >~< Maybe next year I will share some costumes, lol

October Dreams is here to share the most important part of any holiday, decorations and food!
unfortunately fall simply doesn't exist this far south so we rely on pumpkins, scarecrows, and orange leaf garlands to bring the spooky season vibes in.
Halloween is one of, if not my favorite holiday to decorate for! Also who doesn't love free candy?:orangeleaf::candy:

We know fall is here when the leaves drop! I particularly like the oak leaves to make piles. I had a dog that LOVED to pounce into piles of leaves (and snow!) and dig around. We adopted her in the fall, and it was one of the first signs of her "real" personality coming through after getting past the shelter trauma. Every time I see a big pile of leaves I get those happy memories and wish she was still here to play in them!

Fittingly, of course, Gusty will still play in the leaf pile for me. (Gypsy declined the invitation to join us!)

A Halloween tradition of mine that represents the season for me is painting on mini pumpkins! I grow my own pumpkins each year (they really grow themselves haha) and I like to paint a different character each time. This year is Poliwhirl the Pokémon. Baby Cuddles here helped with the painting. Who knew she had an eye for art!

Oh, this is so fun!! That piece of artwork from PonyLand Painter inspired me to get a TAF YumYum and SweetTooth – they are both currently sunfading and covered in tempera paint, but I will definitely have to do a little recreation with them once they're dry! Yay Halloween things!! :bat: :candy::candle::redleaf::pumpkin::ghost::skull::web::orangeleaf: ETA: just sent over a donation!

The Apple Delight family has been busy carving their prize winning giant apples!

I'm not a big Halloween person but I love that it signifies a shift into fall and then the winter holidays! I have a huge extended family that has managed to stay close since my grandparents passed so I really cherish our big Thanksgiving & Christmas gatherings. We get together for birthdays and such but the holidays are when almost everyone can be there together :happyhearts: Halloween means its almost time for Grandma's Rite of Passage Applesauce Jello (which one of my cousins makes now!) - we joke that if new significant others don't like the jello they aren't the one lol

Thank you for the donation :happyhearts: that gets you an extra entry but make sure you get your fall pony pic posted before the deadline to get your regular free entry too :redleaf:

Yes indeed! I need to clean off my poor sunfading TAFs this week; I’m still knee-deep in Halloween costume contest projects, lol. Too many fun pony projects and not enough time! Hopefully I can get those gals clean and reassembled asap!

I really like the fall foliage colors red, orange, yellow. These mums just beginning to bloom are the only things turning colors near me right now. It's still too hot. I'm waiting for cooler weather and crisp autumn breezes.:flutter2::orangeleaf:

  • Do you decorate your home or yard?
    • Typically yes, but we haven't started on it this year. Motivation is kinda low.
    • Hubby and I actually bought costumes like the day of or a few days after our Sprit of halloween opened. We're going to be scarecrows! We were going to do it last year but I couldn't find the costume I wanted in my size. So this year is a go!

ETA: I also made a donation :ponylove:

Entering :) shaking it up with a G4 pony.

Halloween represents to me the beginning of the Perfect Holiday Trifecta- Halloween (super fun theme + my favorite genre of films + cannnnndyyyyyyy), followed by Thanksgiving (awesome food, fun TV, a wonderful wonderful day), and then of course Christmas (presents, gifting, peppermints, fun). October then- and Halloween by extension- is a time of fun and anticipation.

One fun celestial thing this month is tonight’s full Harvest & first supermoon of the year!

Some of the most fun swaps have been the Halloween ones.... My loot from the 2009 to Halloween swap - 16 years ago! The custom is still in the AlexK custom still resides in my collection today.

Fall reminds me of pumpkin spice, scary movies, cooler weather, tons of candy, and of course Halloween. My son Hunter has autism and he’s 22 years old. It is his favorite holiday of all time. So we’ll do some decorations and this is one of our favorites. Every year, Mr. Green comes out of hunters man cave (decked out storage building) to try a little fishing in our pond. He never catches anything, but he gets his toes nibbled on quite a lot. He’s one of our favorite decorations. I think the fish almost enjoy it too, cause they hide and play with his feet and the bobber that sits in the water. Gusty is my favorite My Little Pony from when I was little. She was one of the very first ones I had and she’s been with me for over 40 years along with the rest of my collection lol. Still collecting of course.!☺️ Nothings reminds me more of fall then Gusty!❤️
