The straight up weirdest thing you’ve seen while pony hunting?

Seeing as this was in the G4 era, I’m sure that this set would’ve been available a lot more widely than any previous generation at this time, right? So they wouldn’t have had to worry about no more existing in the world. If it was me buying, I would’ve unboxed. All my ponies are unboxed and I probably would still free them from the packaging today

I can’t help but wonder what this set may have been. I didn’t collect G4 when it was on the shelves as I didn’t pull out my pony box from the loft until I was college. I’m not as familiar with the sets. Do you remember what set this may have been? I’m wondering how pretty those ponies were

I actually don’t remember what set she was talking about. I’m sure it actually was hard to find in-box tho. I DO remember she was selling this set for a lot of money, but again, I don't remember if it was what she was talking about:

Heh, the seller would’ve hated me then :D I always open packages of toys even if I’m not playing with them

For me it’s on a case by case basis! But on average I prefer opening. Holding the pony in my hands is half the appeal!

reminds me of one of my favorite pony websites in days gone by-- they had a page dedicated to a campaign called "Ponies Out Of Plastic", playfully arguing that keeping ponies MOC is animal cruelty.

Weirdest? I probably have a few. I acquired a Kellogg's baby ages ago, can't remember where I got it. When I went to clean her, she had Wite-Out covering the back of her hind leg. I removed it with acetone and saw that someone had written "25¢" in permanent marker on her and the Wite-Out was used to cover it up.

I can’t think of any others, but I found a baby Waddles with a minor haircut on Etsy years ago. He had been turned into a necklace by screwing hooks into his head and hindquarters but his body was so perfect and the price so good I bought him anyway and just freed him from his setup. The seller is no longer active so I can’t get a closer pic, and he’s still not removed from my parents house, but the thumbnail is still visible in my purchases. The holes are tiny so I’m still not too fussed.

The fact it’s an ad makes it even weirder. Like this seller just had to make sure I knew about Rick and Morty pony. No idea if they used a real pony as a base or if the whole thing is sculpted.
