The straight up weirdest thing you’ve seen while pony hunting?

While not strictly pony hunting, last year, while at a Goodwill, my son wanted this ship (pony is for size reference):

After getting home, he heard something rattling around inside of it, so, naturally, he opened it to see what it was. He comes to me to holding the bottom of the ship to ask if what he found inside was what he thought it was....

Yes...

...It was a condom! Thankfully, unused, and old, as the packaging for it was still there, but had deteriorated with age. Thankfully, my son is an older teenager, so no awkward explanation was needed! Also, he hadn't touched it, so into the trash it went!

Oh my, there's a lot of jokes I could make here... and will not. Even if it would be really funny :lolpony:

Lol! I wonder how that got there! I was expecting an animal or bug lol. I once found a dead mummfied lizard in a barbie playset i bought when looking for ponies. I accidently grabbed it out of the box not realizing it wasnt a piece of playset. Poor lizard. T_T

The only time I have ever seen a g2 pony in the wild was at a swap meet I go to pretty often. I usually have good luck finding g3 and g4 ponies in piles of toys people are trying to get rid of, but this Clever Clover? Was being sold by a guy selling nothing but tools. This was the only toy he had. It wasn't in great condition but I bought him just for the novelty ^^

Pain, torture even. Rainbow Flash is my very first pony, and this is really messing with my mind.
271 Thai Bath is 7.7 UDS, not much lower than the price I brought my own Rainbow Flash back in the day, if I remember correctly.
The hair look nice, but I am not sure why is this considered good. The strange thing is that, this Esty shop does sell other Ponies in better condition for cheaper.
I am not sure what is going on with Esty pony trade, but they are usually much more expensive. Maybe it is Esty's fee.
Decided to censor the name because I didn't say the best things about them.

I wish I see something like Sweat Stult, instead of a heart break.

im so sorry! i notice this with etsy too. ponies there are usually more expensive than what i find on ebay or mercari. i bought a few of my first ponies off etsy but haven't bought anymore from there since.

that hair is INCREDIBLY shiny though...

Oh my, yeah Etsy is one place I’ve yet to buy ponies from. I’ve bought some flocking material and I may need some replacement flutter wings in the future, but ponies there always seem to be very expensive! They’re great for restoration supplies, but collectors there tend to overprice their sales from what I’ve seen.

I would suggest Mercari if you haven’t tried there, I’ve gotten some really great deals on that site (eBay, too but that’s a given).

I've bought ponies from etsy before with no prob.

Oh yeah, it’s not a bad place to buy from in a general sense; I’ve never had a problem receiving what I order or anything. Just in my experience, the prices tend to be higher than on other sites. I’m also on the lookout for bait or ponies in need of more extensive restoration and many I’ve found on Etsy tend to be on the cleaner side. Not a bad thing for the average collector, but not ideal for restoration work

This sadly isn’t the first time I’ve seen this.
What? No wonder you had to keep slashing prices; every time you changed the price you were defacing the merchandise! Can you imagine if that was Rapunzel?!?
Yupp I saw that a few times in the 90s, I even saw one that had not so nice writing on it to a sister :/ oh boy a brother must have been mad at his sister I regret not buying that pony lol

There was the munchy filled with stuff, too.
Yupp my mom found some g1 at garage sale in the 90s she told me looks what I found I said cool but picked one up and it was hard and filled with stuff.

Hey, half the joy of getting a pony is cleaning her up!
Cleaning their earsies with soaped-up toothbrush is soo meditative.
I have a ton of fakies, so ear diversity makes it satisfying.

(Other spots I use electro toothbrush for, but where eyes or symbol are nearby, real one is safer)
