Well, we got no sleep last night. The city had a massive storm equal to a tropical storm. It was just awful. My internet is extremely slow if not non existant most of the time. We are okay, but birds didn't make it. Sad thing. Sniff. Our city is shut down for several hours as no one can get anywhere. All the rivers and bayous have overflowed into the neighborhoods and streets. I may be out some since its taking me too long to get the internet to work. Hugs out to all my Texas friends. This was a bad cell and I am concerned about everyone. We had a Rockets game last night and a lot of the people were still in the center this morning. They couldn't leave. 13 feet of water not too far from my house. DH is going to try to get to work, hope he can.

Sorry about the birds :( But gladly you are okay! It seems there is extreme weather going on :( Hopefully the weather will be soon better and dry out all that water ;)

Sad news about the birds, but they're now winging their way through Heaven! :) Glad you weathered the storm okay. Praying the flooding recedes and everything gets back to normal in your area. *nods*

My internet is back up to normal speed and I have the best news ever. The baby bird was still in the nest, I just didn't see him and the momma bird came back to care for it. I can't believe that baby made it through that storm all alone with no momma. We looked out there several times and she never came to the nest. I think she has two nests now and is burning her candles trying to take care of her babies. I was just thrilled to see they made it through after all. I thought they had drowned or had been blown out of the nest. I guess I built a pretty sturdy little next. I am so happy.

I'm so glad you and your DH are safe! I hope everything dries out soon and I'm glad to hear the mama bird and baby made it through.

So glad to hear that you and your loved ones (and the birdies!) made it through to storm. Hopefully you guys will get some respite from bad weather. Things have been so chaotic every where lately.

I know its something else and we will be getting rain all weekend into next week. There is still a flooding problem in a lot of places. My backyard still has not drained. I have no idea when it will and I am worried about the mosquitos due to all the standing water. Hmmmm What makes me sad is the elderly couple that they still can't find. They were in the middle of a rescue when the boat capsized and sent three people back into the water. 1 was found passed away but they still have not found the elderly couple. Its terrible. Also the mom and her kids that were in a house floating down the river and they are no where to be found either. Lots of losses and terrible things have happened to a lot of families. Sigh...:(

OMG! What tragedies... Makes you appreciate the good fortune you do have. *nods*
