Is Dutch Candy a variant BonBon, or is she her own thing?

According to the Wiki she is an alternate of BonBon. Her card literally just says “Candy Pony” “My Little Pony” & “Collect Them All” all on the same packaging imagery as the normal releases so no reason to suggest a variation but alternate colouring.
OK thanks...which one do I want to keep? LOL

I would personally keep both. They’re different enough that they are their own ponies and they have different names therefor different. Lol
You're the one who said they count as a variant, lol!!

I thought maybe I would just collect a single version, lol.
I meannnn, technically they are different. >u> A harder to find difference too.
However this is coming from someone who could never bring myself to sell, trade, or donate a single pony. I also really adore variants. It feels like a piece of history to see variations from different countries. Theyre different bc they come with their own stories. The reason /why/ those colors were chosen for a specific country, the cultural significance, thinking wow we as people shared the same experience of getting these ponies but in our own different but same way. Its intricate and beautiful <3

This is a cute way of thinking about it. I just want to check in with myself and make sure I am keeping them cause I want them and not because of the urge to collect. Does that make sense?

I have so many Dutch ponies, and as I'm cataloging things I'm laughing cause they're all just named for their symbol. I wonder what I would be called in that case.
"Mommy Human"
"Rainbow Human"
"Bed Human" <--- wishful thinking

I totally understand that! Ive been there when deciding to buy things. With variants tho I feel its a warranted keep! :purpleheart: Goodness!! How did you get so many dutch ponies!! Haha I dont have any. That might be why im so biased tho, I only own one variant. :lolpony:

Haha thats so cute! My Dutch bestie doesnt know why they named them so simply either, but i personally think its cute. Maybe there was some sort of marketing standpoint behind it, like what they do with colors used.

I think it's one of those things where technically they're the same but visibly they're very different. So in that sense I think most completionist collectors would keep both since they wouldn't considered one or the other "just a double".

I had a friend living in the Netherlands who would hunt ponies for me. She wanted Disney items in exchange. She's also how I got a lot of my special merch and basically ALL of my European G2 items.
I haven't spoken to her in years. :/ No idea if she's OK or if she still finds ponies. She used to be on here, but it's been like ... a decade and some change.

Which variant do you own?

You know.. It is kind of funny as americans we do put big price tags on international ponies someone from their country could easily get cheaper. I know its bc there were less made but still haha kinda sucks!

I have Eurinice, the curly haired Italian Firefly! :redheart::purpleheart: My mom gifted her to me on a Christmas!
firefly_italian_wickedwonderland.jpgpic from strawberryreef my ponies are still in chaos lol
