Weird Pony Confessions

What about printing it out and covering half of one wall with it?
Now that I like. I has some serious possibilities...

<picturing the walls covered in pony pictures that I make a shelf in front of each picture for the pony that matches the picture will go there>

Well, the pictures in mine aren't big enough for that. I designed the pages of the checklist so that I could fit up to 24 ponies per 8.5x11" sheet

Does "Creating an exhaustive pictorial checklist of almost the entire US G1 line (plus a couple UK releases) after catching yourself shopping for a pony you already have" count as weird?

Not weird at all! I've made myself a pictoral checklist for G1, G3, and G4! XD I just find it so much easier to ID the ponies with a visual image, rather than just their name. :)

Did you see the part about printing it out and putting it on my wall so that I can see it all at once from my desk by looking at the wall?

Yeah, I did. I don't do that myself, but I have printed them out and keep them in my purse, so I can check on them whenever I go pony hunting/shopping. :)

ETA: Also, my checklist pictures are too tiny for display: I've made a 10 x 10 grid to fit up to 100 ponies per 8.5"x11" page for my checklists. .... Also I have no empty wall space. (lol)

Nope not at all.

Nope not at all.
So I guess having an Excel database with all my ponies (including some stats such as body and hair colours release date, type, pose, series, country), incoming ponies, "official" wish list, 2nd wish list (the one I haven't really acknowledged mentally because I need more room for ponies) and calculations for my trades doesn't count either? :lolpony:

I've been considering making a set of posters, one for main releases, one of rare variants, one for internationals, etc. With multiple checkmark boxes under each, so you can check off that you have one, but are still looking for a mint condition, or are looking for the accessories that go with them, and so on.

It’s interesting reading how everyone else documents their collection. I have been documenting mine by making them into little booklets with a photo of them and their information. There’s three volumes so far (can only have about 20 pages, 10 pieces of paper, from the size) and I’m only going up to my collection as of March. I include any that’s gone missing from my collection as “honourable mentions” but because I’m only going up until March this year so far so my newest Cutie Mark Crew’s will have to be in a new one once these are done

It may be a modest collection, but I still felt the need for insurance. Especially with prices inflating like crazy.
I was thinking about getting insurance for my ponies! :lolpony: As of now, I just use MLP merch for my checklist. Eventually, I want to make my own, but I don't have time. I wish MLP merch would add a plushie section and McDonald's section for g3, though.

MyLittleWiki has a McDonald’s section for G3’s. Helped me find out from an old photograph I used to have Cloud Dancer and Spring Treat. MLP Merch is helpful though too and has helped me out with pony research
Mylittlewiki can be a little harder to navigate, but it's my favorite for all the bits and bobbles through g3.

That's because it's entirely fan made and it's mostly the older class of collectors.

Though you are 100% right about that.
I’ve noticed it seems to have more about the earlier gens.

I do use a mix of sites since I find they all have different strengths or different amounts of information
