Hey y’all!
Today I picked up a couple G3-G4 ponies (pictures soon!) so I got to work on cleaning them. In the lot there was a “Pie Party” Pinkie Pie/Pinkie Pie III, with tail issues. It looked VERY thin (close to G4 thin) but didn’t look cut, so I opened her up, and found this as a washer:

Her head was tightly on, but not tight like other G3s who I’ve struggled to open. Hot tap water did the trick.
The string/thread is in a very tight knot, and the plastic the washer is made of is very close to PP’s body color. Otherwise, the tail and tinsel matches her mane perfectly with minimal fading.
What’s going on? Could it have been the previous owner/parents that did this?

Those are pretty common in later G3's; it's factory.

Those are the regular plastic washers in all g3's

As a customizer, I can't even think how any human hands could get that hair through that small washer hole.

I at times have to carve larger tail holes just to thread new tails through with floral wire

Sometimes Hasbro used the style of washer you see in G1s (metal clasp and metal washer), sometimes they used those plastic ones. The earliest I remember seeing them was on the Spring Basket ponies (Bubblecup, Wishawhirl, and Garden Glade).
