Makes me feel better about $300 for the two I had to buy. I'm sorry it's so expensive! We sure needa win da lotto.

Adulting is awful. I dunno why anyone does it on purpose.

I know right? Why can’t we all just go live in Paradise Estates and chillax and take it easy by the pool?

I had a dream last night about winning the lottery, so my Mom convinced me to buy tickets today. I don’t usually buy because I never win anything, not a free ticket or anything... so I feel like I can spend my $10 on something else. Lol

Hey, your dream might come true, ya never know! Might as well plunk down a few bucks just in case!

Also... lookit what my bunny Velveeta gave me a few days ago!

They're little Rexes, they have the softest fur. So adorable. I'm gonna name the fatty upfront Pillsbury. He's a plump little biscuit! Mama has made a wonderful cozy nest of hay and her own fur, which you can see all over. She's really loving being a mom.

And here finally is my pup Trixie Doodlebug. She's getting big! She's not a floofy pom, but that's okay, I adore her. Sure is hard to get her to be still though!

Holy sweet marmalade!!! So much adorable baby animal love I’m going into overload!!! <3 <3 <3 Rex bunners have the MOST amazing fur. Buns in general are usually so soft, but then the Rex was all like “you think your cute and fluffy, naw man, naw. Touch me, do it, you know you wanna.”

And baby Trixie Doodlebug! Holy Guacamole! How bloody fluffy and adorable is she!? Umm a lot. I want to snuggle her and let her and Clover have an awesomely adorable play date.

I am back not on all the time but a bit here and there miss yall

Ology!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve missed you around here so much! big giant hugs Welcome back girlfriend. awkward highfive

Battling high blood pressure

My foot is supposed to be fully healed by end of march so I started walking more and I'd have to go a day letting my foot heal from soreness before walking again

Got my blood pressure down but then it shot back up due to emotional stress that wasn't self-afflicted

First started taking my blood pressure cause I had a episode 2 Sundays ago where I thought I had to vomit but I never did but instead my heart kept beating uncomfortably fast and I got dizzy and couldn't talk but felt I was going to pass out

So took my BP next day and it was sky high

Suppose I should go to the doctor but I want to see if it stays down if I don't have the emotional stress from a particular outer source raising it back up

You might want to go to the doctor anyway. That doesn't sound healthy :/

Classes start again March 7th. It was a nice 5 week vacation for the Chinese New Year...
but I don;t wanna go back to work
@Tikibirds I admit, if I had no obligations in the States, I think an adventure in China would be amazing. You must have seen so many interesting things there, really getting immersed in the culture. I would think the censorship would be problematic, but what an amazing life experience!

You should start a thread here, telling us all the neat things you see!

Yays! I joined Instagram just to follow you like a snoop! Guess I maybe should snoop on other friends there too... lol

I just spent two hours washing and conditioning pony hair under HOT water and now my hands are pruney and no amount of lotion is helping the situation. I hate feeling like I have dry hands. Serves me right for not wearing gloves I guess?

Friend died last week

My throat is killing me. It's painful to swallow and it's kinda hard to breathe. I feel so weak right now, I'm having trouble staying awake. I absolutely hate this :)

I’m so sorry to hear about your friend. :xmashug:

Apparently there’s some kind of virus going around where I live. I, myself, am just getting over a cold/pneumonia combo that’s been real fun. I hope your feeling better soon!!!! Drink lots of warm fluids and start cold meds.

Thanks for the well wishes. My stomach contents right now is probably 70% tea lol. I hope this passes soon because I feel like a corpse

There's been a nasty bug going around my area too, though it seems mostly done now. Probably a combination of fllu shots wearing off and the shift from winter to spring. Those transitional periods always seem to come with a spike in sicknesses.

I feel grumpy because my mom fussed about me taking care of my aunt. I took care of mom for over a decade, dangit. 24/7. Missed out on a lot of my life, to take care of her. I don't except gratitude or platitudes, but certainly didn't appreciate her being a brat because someone else needed attention. Not being mean, but mom having gone into a nursing home is saving my sanity. My aunt is sooooo much easier on me.

Vent over. Anyone caring for an elderly parent/loved one knows my pain.

We have both my grandparents living with us. My Granddad is in end stages of his cancer (skin cancer that has spread rapidly over the last few years). As well as my Nana who has early onset Alzheimer’s which has progressed a lot with in the last month.
Caring for our elders certainly isn’t easy on any one person, let alone a family but it’s what we, as the younger generation should do for our loved ones at one point.
I’ve personally learned a lot over the many years helping to care for grandparents (we took care of my Oma before she passed as well). I think it also brings out a lot of other family menber’s personalties and what they are willing to do (or not do) for loved ones. It’s a sad life fact but at one point we will all experience it as we all age. :,(

I have been thinking a lot about going back to school. I just found out recently that I am allowed to go to college/uni on my disability so now I am very interested in taking a veterinary assistant course and just work as one part time. Of course I am getting a lot of flack about this, lots of "of but you have to be realistic, you can't do that". Why can't I do it? I used to volunteer as one and I loved it, its not going to kill me physically and working part time at a clinic is not unheard of. It really gets me down when people tell me I need to be "realistic" and expect to do nothing for the rest of my life...The same thing happens when I talk about having a child, which I really want to do, I would love to be a mother. I was told once that it'd be cruel for the baby if I had one since I have health problems and I'd end up neglecting the child. I really don't know where people get off some times...

I’m not sure what your health problems are but if you know you’ll be a good parent then I’d say go for it!
As for the vet thing, as someone who has worked in the field as a technician for 15+ years I will tell you a hard truth not many are forth coming about. And something I wish someone had told me before I went into it.
It’s an extremely difficult job to do. You are often over worked, very underpaid and not at all appreciated. There is a reason that the veterinary field has the highest rate of suicide in a profession. We all deal with a lot of mental, verbal and in some cases physical abuse from clients on a daily basis and static’s show that a burn out period for most people is 5-10 years. Obviously most put up with all the bad because we live what we do and we love the animals we work with. But it is a very taxing career.

I agree it's important to take care of elderly loved ones as much as we can. However, there is a point where professional help is needed, and where a hired RN or a nursing home is just more practical for everyone involved. There's a difference between being around to help with some things and needing to dedicate every waking moment to it, only to not be the best help because you're not professionally trained.
