I’m so sad. I just found out that my little brother has been in the hospital overnight for acute pancreatitis. I don’t even know what they can do for that. He’s my little brother. To top it all off, I was the last to know. I know that I’m the pariah of the family, but now I’m really worried about my brother and I know that I will be the last to get any news. Family hurts.
The poor guy! I'm so sorry to hear that!
I know I'd be upset if one of my younger brother's were in the hospital!
How could they over look telling you! :( that's just not nice even if their mad at you! Your still family!
I'll pray for your brother's wellbeing, and send him healing thoughts.
Please remember that We are here for you! :xmashug:

They aren’t mad. Just lots of tangled history. I also know my mom would have told me, but she was at the hospital with him. No gall stones. He doesn’t drink. They don’t know what happened. :( I hope they can find a way to keep it from happening again.

I hope your brother is a doing better! Is he your only sibling? Hopefully he won't have to be in the hospital for long.

He’s not my only sibling. Just the family favorite. He’s home now, but they still don’t know why it happened.

@Tak :xmashug: I’m sorry to hear about your brother, it sounds like he’s stable enough to be home which is good news.

I obviously can’t speak for your family, but I know with my family when stuff happens medically (mostly with my grandparents) my brother is typically the last to know. The main reason is because we all get hyper focused on the situation at hand. We get all the info we can before making calls so we don’t potentially worry him for seemingly nothing. Also with him no longer living at home alphabetically he’s lower on the call list in our phones. O_O; I try to make a point to let him know things ASAP now that I’m back home and primarily the caregiver in the house but it does honestly slip my mind sometimes.

As far as pancreatitis is concerned it is typically caused by having a diet consisting of higher fatty foods. This can cause the pancreas unable to properly process sugars and basically make a fat layer in and around it. (This is why it’s SO common in dogs, especially around holidays when owners feed more people food to them.) Good news is, it sounds like he may of had an acute attack which can come on suddenly and with no “reason.” It’s typically treated with diet change and occasionally medications and close monitoring for awhile. If he’s a smoker, eats higher fat content foods, doesn’t drink enough water he will likely be told to make some lifestyle changes.

I was mis-informed. My dad’s trying. He’s not home yet. They still haven’t found a reason, though they are going to look at a biopsy possibly. My grandma had pancreatic cancer. There’s also, possibly mythical, information that people who have had covid can experience acute pancreatitis after recovery? News from China, so not really confirmed.

I do know that he has never smoked, drank, or done drugs. He can’t even take antihistamines. They give him nosebleeds due to fine vein membranes and dryness. He eats what my mom feeds him which is super healthy. Low/no carb, lean protein, lots of fresh veggies. He’s in great shape from walking the dog so much. Only 36. They ruled out gall stones, fatty organs, blocked bile duct, and his test for covid was negative. I’m so worried about him.

I woke up at 3ish because of the heatwave, and something started rattling. Thought we were having an earthquake or an aftershock at first, but my bed wasn't shaking and the rattling got really violent and there was this weird noise coming from the other side of my room. I don't know what to make of it?

Tried to catch a rat snake earlier that was going somewhere it might get killed, but when I grabbed it it bit my finger and even though it didn't seem to have bit me that hard it did enough to cause it to bleed, and even after that I couldn't capture it but I no longer feel a need to try and save it and don't care if it gets eaten.

Maybe it’s your ponys :) they wanted attention lol

Well, I’m going to be moving sometime soon, and I don’t know what to do about having a collection of mlp and non-mlp toys, as well as stuffed things and dolls mainly that I intended to sell long ago. And a million billion plush toys!! I don’t really plan on selling or donating any of it so I’m hoping I can find an apartment with enough space or storage. Otherwise, my brother is going to have plastic tubs of plushes and stuff in his house lol!

Just make sure you pack them right and they'll be okay for quite awhile in storage.

I'm back from a mini-hiatus! Just... needed a break from ponies.

Hope everyone is doing well. We've been trying to survive the heatwave that the coastal states sent over. The humidity finally dropped, so things are bearable at this point.

My great aunt pass away today I am not doing so good

Oh @Ology I'm sorry to hear that. Sending virtual hugs to you :xmashug:
