This is my first custom MLP! I decided to go all in for my first and take on a blank HQG1 from AHorseOfEveryColor on Etsy, because i fell in love with dyed transparent ponies i had seen in a HQG1 group i follow and so far i don't regret it at all. The quality is incredible and i am super pleased with how things are going so far! His hair is en route, and his cutie mark is just waiting on me. I've got to find my tiny brushes and get to work! But this color is too pretty not to share him now. I used a liquid Rit dye and the process was shockingly easy and quick.

Ohh that is such a pretty shade of blue! He looks like a star-studded night sky.

I did dye him myself! I used Rit dyemore liquid in the midnight navy color. Thank you so much for the compliments, everyone! I can't wait to have him finished. His hair is in my town now, so it'll be here tomorrow!

I was going to ask what color as soon as I saw him. I see in the comments "midnight navy." I was scared of that color only because it is called "navy." But it isn't next to black, instead It's like is the perfect balance between blue and and purple: it's like a violet. Beautiful!

Thank you! I'm in love with it! My original design, as in my profile photo, was going to be more toward the blue end but this color just came out so wonderful. From my dye process it looks like you could get a fairly nice range if you wanted out of this dye color as well- he started out a bit more blue but as i saw the vinyl darken i just knew i had to keep going. Indoors he's a bit closer to black, and goes either more blue or violet depending on the lighting. I couldn't be happier!

He also got his cutie mark this evening! I have to decide what to seal it with, as im starting to think gloss would be better over the gold. This is Citadel paint in Retributor Gold for anyone wondering- it is by far my favorite gold paint to use for accents and details on small things.
