I'm taking on a Custom Neon Seeker Team Challenge with another member on tfw2005. Its just for fun. I still need to find a third figure, but I've got 2 now and one partially done. I'll update as I go.

First up is WIP Blindside. Her base is Cyberverse Starscream, who I forgot to snap a picture of. Oops.

I tell ya peeps, neon paint is a pain and a half to work with! There's a lotta layers and the paint is soft, so my work gets ruined alot. I'll never use it again. I may or may not have based her color scheme on Shady. Funny thing is, my partner did a pink/green TF too. Huzzah!

She still needs a lot of work, her vents, rayguns, nosecone, landing gear, arms and cockpit need to be painted. Her wings need to be finished and there are a lot of touch-ups for mistakes and areas that don't wanna get covered up.

Here's a pic of Bait-scream's package and Wind-bait. I'm unsure if Windy will be the orange/blue Optic Burn or the aqua/yellow Star Sizzle.

More of the back wings covered, but the Decepticon symbol is being difficult. Started adding silver to the turbines, vents and guns. Need new black paint to fix the head and to paint the thrusters and nose cone.

Wow! Those neons look bright! They look amazing!

Maybe this could help? You can do a layer or two of white first as a base and then paint the neon over it. It would take less layers of the neon paint and be less time consuming ;)

They're bright alright. And thin and soft too. X( I'll try your suggestion, thanks.

Neon paints are a pain in the rear to work with, I was thankful to have only used them on Pegasus wings. Lol

Doing a base layer of gesso helps A LOT not only to help the paint adhere to the toy but as a white base coat. But I know TF are a hard plastic, so might be totally different to my beloved pony vinyl. :D Either way you could give it a try on your next one.

Here's my challenge partner's counterpart for his team The Star Shiners. Her name is Neon Storm. She's awesome!

And I started on Optic Burn. These here are Tropical Paints, so fingers crossed that they won't be a huge pain in my patootie.

I filled in more orange and started adding blue and a bit of black and silver. Something tells me this one will be less stressful then their teammate.

They both look awesome! I love the neon colours, but yesh... they are so thin. Like others have said, priming with white helps. I usually put a layer of gesso to prime, then if I'm painting a neon pink, I'll put a layer of regular pink down, puting the neon pink on top of that. It helps.

Thanks foof. I still have one teammate after Star Sizzle's done and need to find both a figure and primer. :)

Added silver to her face. I'm gonna hafta use a toothpick to scrape it off her lips and right eyeball when it dries. Which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. Darnit!

Once I fill that in and it dries, I'll try to go over the lines with a fine brush dipped in blue.
