Whoo! Finished one shawl (which I still need to block and weave in the ends) and I'm working on another which I am really enjoying making. No pics tonight. Maybe Sunday. Tomorrow is going to be a long day for me.

Take all the time you need :) <3

I have been teaching myself to crochet. Be proud of me! Just simple single and double crochet. But I'm loving the round dishcloths I've been making.

I love it! and I'm so proud of you! Nice and flat, with good tension throughout! very nice! You're a natural! <3 ;)

Wouldn't say I'm a natural... That was NOT the first attempt. Lol
Lol, I'm a natural "do it without instructions just by eye and it turns out savant" and even I have to frog my projects, from time to time lol! It's a learning experience and it is so much fun if you stick with it!
I can't recommend happyberrie crochet on YouTube enough, her baby booties video gave my crochet a whole new dimension and really helped me with 3D crochet if you like you should check her out! <3

You can be a natural without getting something first try! :winkpony: I just learned crochet at the beginning of this year on my own and it took practice but once i got it i flew through everything haha. It looks like youre off to a good start, youll be making tons of stuff in no time!! :D :twohearts:

Thanks friends! I'm definitely on a "learn everything fiber arts" adventure this summer. I've been sewing most of my life and picked up cross stitching several decades ago. Plastic canvas happened about 2 years ago. Basics of knitting was last year. But in the last 2 months I have tried needle felting, hand embroidery, and now crochet. I must do ALL THE THINGS!

Thanks @MegaLeafeon for the youtube suggestion. I will definitely check it out! (After I finish last summer's 4th of July quilt that is currently on my machine.)

Among several other knitting projects I hope to be able to post finished pictures of soon, I'm working on this (link to pattern page): https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2014/10/29/sideways-garter-vest/

They did theirs in a dark blue and gray.

Not me! No, I like a challenge. I invite them into my home and give them tea and cookies!

I did mine in BLACK YARN and gray.

Because I also had to make things EXCITING, I cast on using the German Twisted Cast-on. I think I did that cast on 7 or 8 times in the black yarn, and by the time I got to the last one, if I hadn't gotten it, I was giving up. I love the cast-on, but in black yarn? FORGET IT.

I'm about two inches away from getting to the armholes., then I create the armholes with some waste yarn, and keep going. to finish. It's *simple* in that it's mostly straight knitting, but I've never done any intarsia before, so that's exciting. I am curious to see how to do the armholes when I get to those, but I think they're going to be similar to cast-ons with waste yarn. We'll see!

This DOES sound exciting! Lol

I use Purlsoho too! They have some nice little tutorials for quick reference when I don't remember how to do something a pattern tells me is next.

I’m living vicariously through all of you. My peripheral cyanosis makes my fingers so clumsy. I’m not able to crochet as well anymore.

GUYS!! I have never in my life needed to have something crocheted more in my life ever!

I love it so much and the glasses just kill me. Janet and Rita are one of my favourite things about Bluey. I’m dying. What’s great if you want to be really crafty you can switch the colours and have BOTH Rita and Janet’s outfits.

If any of you crafty yarn makers want this amazing pattern you can find it here in both adult and child sizing: https://www.bluey.tv/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Grannies-Crochet-Pattern.pdf
