Yarn crafters Unite! 2

I tried to learn crochet from my gramma. She said that my pinkie was too fancy.
You can do It if you want to, I believe in you!
If you need any tips I'm here to help with my 11 years of experience :redheart:

You might like my method of crocheting better than the traditional sense since I crochet in a completely unique way

When I crochet I work the yarn more than the hook to get my tension the way I like it, it's hard to explain in words lol

I would love that.
When she was showing me how to chain, I kept sticking my pinkie out (totally without meaning to), like I was 'having a fancy tea party' and she said I was holding it all wrong, so she just gave up. It was a major bummer cause I really wanted to learn from her.
I knit just fine, but I haven't been able to learn how to do crochet at all.

Awe don't give up! Chaining is complicated as it is for a beginner just go with the flow even if your pinkie has a mind of its own!

Edit here is the channel I used to learn how to crochet! she also does knitting!

I need knitting patterns though!
I have tried, but I am just not bistitchual.
Sadly, I am also non-talented in the kitting world as well. I am a simple gal who loves Bluey more than anything right now and think Rita and Janet are precious and I hope I’m like them when I’m old and grey. ;p

Oh, I loved that Izzy one. (I voted for it). It was so cute! Such talent!

@darklys I had such a hard time not posting brag pics of the Minty you sent me because I wanted her debut photo to be in the bonnet competition!
Thank you so much for sending her to me! <3

I was making the little bonnet in the dark and not looking because I was watching lotr and I didn't see a thick black hair (which wasn't mine, I'm a long, fine, red) was woven in! I had to use a sewing needle to remove it! lol

Also the lost crochet hook meme is totally base!
Oh nooo!! Lol!! I feel you!! My hair is down to my hips, last year it was down to my knees. I have strawberry blonde hair so its hard to see , and its so long theres no telling how deep into the crochet it is. The struggle is realll.

I'm jealous I've been trying to grow my hair down to my knees for year's and I'm only down to my hips!
then I watched a video explaining how hair grows only a certain length before it stops, so I decided to check if my hair really did only grow to hip length by growing out my bangs and sure enough my bangs stopped growing at my hips!
Now I look like "The ring" girl when I let my hair down!

Aaaaaaah I love this video! It's perfect for describing how the time put into crochet is the same as any other art form!
Most of my projects are in the 10 to 15 hour range
Mlptp Costume contest entries are closer to 20-25 hours of work
The best part is mlpc gets to keep them when I'm done! :) so it's a win-win for her! <3

Thanks for a new youtuber to watch! That was really interesting to see the breakdown, I might have to give it a try myself. I think most of my patterns fall closer to the 10 hour mark design wise. Though I usually remake them a few times to work out the bugs and streamline it for beginner/intermediate crocheters. I'd love to make some "100 hour" pieces but I don't know where I'd store them lol.

You're welcome! Happy to be of service!
I can also recommend some more amazing crochet artists if you like!

There's this one Japanese woman who makes THE most adorable projects!
She even does her own English subtitles to help her practice English! <3

Also major respect on your ability to make a pattern for your projects!
I've tried to make a pattern like twice in my life and it's always resulted in frustration and cursing for me! :)
