Yarn crafters unite!

Oh ok, I knit a bag once and it was super floppy so I wasn’t sure. And Aw that’s cute that they float :D
Knit is much harder to shape than crochet. Knitting makes clothing so much easier, though. I had a hand knitted pair of socks once. 'Sole mates' completely mismatched, but they were the most awesome socks ever. My crocheted socks, not successful. I did make a pretty little soleless shoe.

Woah nice! Socks are hard, did you knit them flat or use double point needles?

I’m afraid that I failed knitting. My mom is left handed and crochets a little strangely because of it. Since she taught me, I’m a little odd, too. We couldn’t figure out knitting. My aunt made them. Living so close to Portland OR there are always plenty of artisans at the weekend markets. We’ve found some good stuff there.

You might give loom knitting a go. I'm a self taught crocheter too and it was pretty easy for me to pick up. I really want to give the sock loom a try but I know it's just gonna be one more thing cluttering my craft supplies ^^;

I think every crocheter tries to make socks at some point and is similarly disappointed lol

I actually got my daughter a little knitting loom beginners kit. Neither of us or my mom could figure it out. We were such epic fails! lol I gave it to my caregiver’s 5 year old and she loves it. Figured it out in no time. We all are a little embarrassed so just sticking with what we know. Plus, I just never have money for anything... except ponies. ;)

Oh ok, sorry I thought youd said you hand knit the pair of socks ^^; at least with people I know it strangely seems that they can either knit or crochet but not both, I wonder why. The only crochet I can do is a long chain that my mom showed me

It is odd, isn’t it? Especially when both can be such fonts of creativity.

I can both knit, and crochet, personally I prefer crochet because of the flexibility of the craft, as well as the knowledge that my creation is completely unique.
A robot may be able to knit an xxl sweater in 2 minutes flat, But it can't make a my little pony costume contest entry! Lol ;3

Oh cool! I guess it is possible to do both then :smile:

Crocheted some coasters and tried some embroidery.
Nice job! I’m too impatient for embroidery lately. I think your frog looks great. :) The crochet is good, too. Coasters? If you want them to lie flat and the yarn can get wet, then just spray a little water on there and shape them, then I usually put something flat and heavy on top until they finish drying. You could also put a border on them and it would flatten that curl. If you even want it flattened.

That's great tip! I have a plant sprayer laying around somewhere, I'll try it out, thanks! :)
