They are definitely a set I’d love to own. When the announced retro mane six, these are what I pictured. Gorgeous. If you decide to take commissions let me know!
Just the mane six... maybe no wings for twilight. I adore that dark purple. G1 is my favorite, too, and I, also, don’t like to customize them unless they’re in sad shape.I might...I do seriously love the work. I guess it just depends on the base pony. I really only have experience with G1s, I like to dye them to achieve the color and prefer to use baits whenever possible since it sucks to ruin decent quality toys. Did you have a particular idea in mind?

I’m going to pm youSo in order to do it, I'd need 6 bait ponies in all different poses, and I tried to match personalities to poses a little, too. Those have run anywhere from $6 -$20 just for baits So you could always rummage thru your bait bin to find the following:
Any unicorn for Twilight ( the purple dye gives good coverage )
Posey for Apple Jack
Surprise for Fluttershy, although I did prefer to just use a yellow-bodied original...think Skydancer or some such- but then you need a different body style for Dash-
The yellow dye is very intense!
Again, some Pegasus style for RD
Glory for Rarity, although that's interchangeable with another white unicorn body
and I did a PP with a bait Parasol, once, but I think she's not a "shy pose" kind of girl!!! I posted a thread about looking for Tootsie poses in Wanted to Buy if you need help finding Ponies that would work.
DASH took 4 original rainbow tails to rehair and I prefer to buy nylon hair from retrodollsuk. I've bought from both dollyhair (which is fine but unreliable and has a certain reputation ) and Doll Planet (which is much thicker nylon) so there's about $6-10 CA per pony for hair plus shipping and wait time.
Depending on the symbol and the body quality, it usually takes 4-5 hours over several days to complete each Pony.
All that being said, I currently have a Skyflier bait and the correct thicker nylon colours to do a Twilight right away. I also have a Skydancer that could be used for Fluttershy and then her tail could be used to start the RD. After that, I'm out of baits.
I could put the TS together over the next couple of weekends and post her for your consideration Let me know
I love her as just a unicorn!
