Hi there :) So since I'm newer here I figured this would be a fun way for me get to know a bunch of you and get some convo going :) How bout this little questionnaire! :D

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

And..........GO!

I will go too to be fair :)

1. Loose ponies G3 unfortunately only 30 ish, *not including* my ponvyille and McD's ponies which I have a lot of. MIB Fair Ponies I think I have 6 in box, and some other art ponies and things in box and some MIP mail order ponies and collectible ones.
2. Definitely G3, but I am more and more interested in G1 every day since I started looking at some of the cute babies!
3. I really like the G3 "art ponies" and my Junko Mizuno pony but I don't think I have a top three either (really hard question, see, I made the question and I can't even answer haha!) but I do love Pinkie Pie :)
4. I'm married, and my husband is NOT into MLP and his response to my ponies all over the shelves is simply to put his die cast sports car collection on the opposite shelves lol. He doesn't mind at all but probably hopes I don't spend all my money on collecting now LOL.
5. I actually never had MLP as a kid, or not that I can recall. I was a serious tomboy and played with GI Joe and Star Wars and Nerf and things...I only started liking MLP as an adult, a few years ago I ran into a photo of someones custom and it was so pretty and I searched and found some of the really neat fancy G3's and real pretty stuff and I was hooked and started with art ponies 3 or 4 years ago (I think)
6. G3 Diva Pose
7. Hair, symbol, eyes.
8. I literally only saw the first 2 or 3 episodes of the show a week ago cause my friend showed me, I never watched the show before. I kinda liked it but it would be more of a once in a while catch an episode thing for me as opposed to watching it every time it's on, obv I collect the toys. Maybe I'll get more into the show later :)
9. No tattoos, not even non pony ones, but my friend has hair dyed to look just like Princess Celestia lol and I have bright blue hair so maybe I match a pony or two, heh. I have a couple friends with G3 pony tattoos though, one has a sleeve of G3 ponies!
10. Probably sell if the SDCC and fair ponies are worth a lot, but def have ponies then I would think since I am the type that tends to love something for ever once I am hooked lol

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
Too many... to count... I have a box full of G1's, a smaller box of baby G1's, a rubbermaid tub full of baits from all generations, and couple smaller boxes of my favorite g3's and a small assortment of g2's.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
I have to say generation 3. I feel that design-wise, they are the most balanced. Not clunky like the G1's, not hybrid-ish like the g2's and g4's.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Ribbons, Bow Tie, Blueberry Baskets.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
My spouse feels he is drowning in a sea of estrogen. XD At times he feels "ponies everywhere, omg omg omg WANT TO BURN THEM ALL" but then he's very supportive. Like gives tips on customizing, and gives me scraps of leather to use on my customs. He also helps with the heavy-duty de-gutting of some...

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I started collecting well before the age of 4. More or less, my mom started collecting for me. I also was super into the cartoons that were out during the 80's. I thought ponies were the cutest, prettiest things.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Ooooh... I enjoy the dynamic poses. The more static "standing" or "down snout" poses are my least favs....

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
If it comes to collecting, it simply has to be a mlp I don't have in my collection yet. If it's damaged and I already have it, I'll take the most dynamic of poses for my bait box.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I sat down to watch one episode of FiM with my neighbors but never paid attention to anything that was going on. I think that means I can't get into the series... but I still like to buy g4 ponies for customizing. Some anime characters aren't done justice as customs, otherwise.
I collect g1 ponies, but not really other gens and that's only if I happen upon them by chance... I don't actively go out searching for anything specific.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
Nope, can't say I do... I used to want blond hair so I dyed it blond. After it was blond, I wanted it purple... got a form of purple hair, hated it. Stopped dying my hair, and am finding that my natural pigment is the best... am tempted to dye it black though. But I probably shouldn't.
I think mlp tattoos are freaking awesome though, by the way. I've seen some around and with how mlp has stuck with me my entire life, I'm willing to bet that's something I'd take to the grave with me.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I've been interested in mlp's for approximately 25 years of my life. I don't see that changing any time soon.

Great answers and nice to learn about you, I like meeting new people here so far and learning about them and their pony love :D I like how you underlined and spaced that out to make it neat...I am a forum newbie in general and have to learn to make my posts look nicer LOL!

Sounds fun :)
1. I think I have 80 something ponies. Not exactly sure :p
2. My favorite is G1 but G3 follows close behind. I love how they all have such a large variety!
3. Nope! It always changes :) Right now I like Sparkler, Paradise, and Sweet Tooth who will always be a favorite :D
4. My sister is starting to like them and my mom is very supportive of my collecting.
5. I'm 13 so I used to get the G3s and then kind of grew out of them. Then a few years ago we had to do a TV scene for theater and our group chose my little pony (odd choice XD) so we all had to watch the friendship is magic show for ideas. Then I realized it wasn't a bad show and got into it, then later brought out all my ponies from storage and started collecting again.
6. The Whizzer pose, because it's energetic; or the Dancing Butterflies pose, because it looks so sweet :).
7. I'm not super picky but absolutely no mold! I don't like bad haircuts either.
8. Both! I like all of the shows but since FIM is on tv, I watch it more often than the others.
9. Nope! The closest I will ever get to a tattoo is a temporary one. I don't want a real tattoo. I also don't think I will be dying my hair any crazy colors.
10. I'm not ever going to sell all of them but If I ever stop collecting I will keep them in storage. You never know!

Ok, here goes...

1. Hmm... maybe between 150 and 200? Maybe more? I've never counted.
2. G3, the ones I grew up with.
3. G3 Shenanigans, my first pony. I love her color scheme, her name, everything. My parents sure knew me well.
4. I share a room with my sister who isn't as into ponies as me, but she still has a collection and we do mix our ponies. My parents pretty much humor me. (I assume this counts, since they do have live in the same house as me.)
5. I started when I was maybe six. My parents bought me my first one for Christmas, and I liked them because they were animals but still "girl toys" (I was never into dolls much).
6. Of all time? I guess G3 donkey, but I also like G3 diva, G3 January Carnation, G1 Bubbles, and G1 Posey.
7. No glaring marks on the body, hair that's not too frizzy, no mold and/or rust.
8. I watch FiM, but I'm not crazy about the original series or the Tales series (dodges flying fakies), but I like to collect all generations, regardless of association with a show.
9. No, I'm not really into that stuff.
10. I think I'll still be keeping my ponies, whether I still actively collect or just enjoy what I already have. My ponies have survived about a decade's worth of cleanouts, so I'm sure they'll continue to make it.

Oooooh this sounds fun! Great post idea!

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

I have a very organized list of my ponies, and I own 309, with more coming in the mail!

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

That would have to be G1! They just look so pretty and gentle, and the designs in general are so lovely.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Oh gosh I'd have to go with top 3! My top three are CP Bluebelle, Rainbow Parasol, and SS Truly!

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

I'm in no relationship (seriously it's hard for me ok...) but my best friend likes ponies too, but she likes to dress in lolita more, she likes my ponies but thinks I've gone too far and have too many and should sell them... And I live with my mum (for now soon to move out) and she's pretty cool about it, and even though she doesn't like all the eyes looking at her she helps keep an eye out for ponies for me, and she loves a lot of them like Princess Tiffany, but she too thinks I have too many and should sell them (usually asks if i'm going to sell the pony i get or not) It is really upsetting when I get a pony in the mail or whatever and I'm all happy and the first thing they say is "sell it." Oops sorry too much info haha...

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

I've been interested since I was a child, I had TE Whizzer who started it all (whom I still have!) and The G1 bedsheets and pillow case, and a G1 Pony Bride singlet that I wore to death (wore it until it was more holes than clothes!)

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

My favourite pose would probably be.... Either Posey pose, Rearing/Truly Pose, Whizzer Pose or Firefly pose.... Probably the best is Firefly pose!

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

1. The price of the pony
2. The scarcity of the pony
3. The condition of the pony
(for example, I'll see a Nirvana pony going cheap, I see how hard to find she/he is, then if the price is worth the condition of the pony. I wouldn't buy a Peachy for $15 if she's baity)

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I do both and admittedly I listen to the theme songs and remixes in my car to University or work!

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

I usually dye my hair (Which is very short) to look like ponies, usually a rainbow like Rainbow Dash for a while haha, I also had Spike the Dragon themed hairstyle too with green and purple and spiked up. And I want a tattoo of something pony-ish, maybe Truly's symbol or a gorgeous scene like I've seen others do, they just look stunning!

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I think I will be yes :) Maybe I may have slowed down by then, but I'll still love them :)

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

About thirty. Some in the mail.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

G1

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

FireFly, Pinkie Pie, AppleJack.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

My husband is not into MLP but he helps me look for them at flea markets, ebay, garage sales etc. He supports my interest lol.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

I was about four. I love animals, wanted ponies.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

Shy

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

#1 is all over body condition. I can live with a little bit of rubs or imperfections but overall damage is a no go for me unless I want a project.
#2 The symbols. I like them to be intact.
#3 Hair. I look for hair that is uncut.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

I love everything MLP and I think FIM is a solid awesome show. I am a fan.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

I do my nails to pony colors sometimes and I have in the past put some color in my hair.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I will be collecting I am sure. I stick to my interests and I am finally at a point to grow my now small collection, I am just getting started lol :winkpony:

Thanks for all the replies so far, one quick note about the question of your spouse/partner: if you are single, or younger and not dating yet you can skip it or replace spouse with parents/friends/siblings/roommates/who ever. I should have specified that to include every one and my apologies for that but fortunately most of you "got it" on your own so there ya go :) Love the answers so far, awesome! :satisfied:
SO glad this thread is taking off, I feel successful now lol especially for a newbie who mostly just replies to things or gets one reply posts lol thanks so much all, keep it coming! :smilepony:

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)?

I'd say about 150 of mixed gens, probably a bit more.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

Probably G1, I like the size of them, the shape and the fact that there are so many!

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Why do you do this?XD okay. 1, gusty. 2. Tex 3.g4 octavia

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection?

My mum, despite not caring that much for ponies, is brilliant. She helps me rifle through old toys at charity shops and for my birthday she bids on eBay auctions. She knows some of the names and buys me stuff to clean my ponies!
My younger sister 'collects' ponies too. By that I mean if I get a double of a pony she will whinge at me until I give it to her. If I buy any ponies, she will complain, and if she looses on an eBay auction she cries. There was one time she decided to bid on a lot of four (and gave me three of the ponies) and when I pointed out one of the ponies had tail rust, she had a tantrum. I'm just hoping she stops bothering about the ponies so I can rescue them.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

I'm on a Roleplay board, and being based in America a lot of the people there are American. I found two people I regularly post with had mlp stamps in their signature. I was confused, and googled 'my little pony'. Things like discord, Luna and the mane six popped up on google images. I looked no further. I then found the fine brothers, youtubers I like, posted 'teens react to my little pony friendship is magic'. I didn't know when this was posted exactly, but u watched it and again, pressed no further. In August of last year I eventually decided to watch the show, and then I remembered the small herd of G3's I had as a kid. Getting them down from the loft was very exciting! On September 22nd I got my first brush able in years, G4 fluttershy. I then decided to collect them, and the serious collecting started after Christmas.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

Probably the G1 shy pose or the G1 shy brother pose.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

One would be uncut hair, or not very cut. 2 would be visible symbol. I don't care much for little rubs or scratches, but an entire symbol missing? No thank you... 3 would be no missing eyes. I'm not too fussy with my ponies, but Id rather a rubbed eye then no eye at all!

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

Yes, it's what got me into collecting! And I collect too, of course.

9. Do you have any tattoohs, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

No, and I don't want a tattoo. On the dyed hair, I might do so for pony cosplay, but other then that, I don't really want to XD

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

In ten years I will be 23 or so. I don't think I will have sold them, no, but I don't know if I will still be avidly collecting. Lets hope so!

1. About 300?... I'm not positive. I did inventory my G1's recently and was at 186 (my goal is a complete set of American released ponies so I still have a long way to go).

2. G1! :)

3. Fizzy!

4. My fiance thinks it's cute and puts up with the shelves upon shelves upon shelves of ponies in our bedroom, hall and guest room. He actually likes the G4 cartoon after I got him to watch it.

5. I had like a billion MLPs when I was a little girl (born in 1986) and loved toy horses of any variety... when G3s came out when I was in my late teens I bought some (like 12 or so) out of nostalgia and because I loved some of the new color combos... Fastforward a few more years and I got into G4 and started collecting those and bought a G1 Fizzy and Gusty... which turned into a refueled pony obsession.

6. Mimic pose, Gusty pose, Locket's pose

7. Hair isn't too frizzy and is mostly uncut, eyes and symbol look good, no major marks that can't be removed

8. I watch/ed the shows. Loved MLP and Friends, Tales, and FIM... I tried to give the G3 cartoons a chance and just couldn't...

9. Not yet but I'd like to

10. I don't know.

Sounds fun! :smilepony:

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
My latest estimate is somewhere near 2000.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1 :winkpony:
3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
My ultimate favorite pony is Firefly, but there are several others that rank among my favorites.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
Surprisingly even before G4, none of the guys I've dated have had a problem with my collecting. Several of them were actually rather impressed!

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I've had them since before I can remember, so it's been more than 20 years of having them around in one form or another. I put away my ponies when I was about 12 because I was "too old" (gasp) but ended up bringing them out shortly thereafter when G2 began to take off.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
I'm fond of Heart Throb's pose, and Bubbles' pose. I remember when I first saw Bubbles way back when, and was amazed I'd never seen a sitting pony before.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
Hmmm if I had to choose...
Most important quality is no mold or pony cancer.
Second important is good hair quality.
Third important is symbol quality.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
Both!

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
No tattoos, and while I didn't dye my hair to look like a pony, I designed my persona pony after the way I dyed my own hair. For many years I had it dyed the way it is in my persona in my signature. I kind of miss it!

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
Well, it's already been 20 years of having them and at least 10 of active collecting, so I don't see any reason for that to change any time in the near future :)

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
I think 55, not including McDonalds ponies.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G3. :ponylove: It's the one I grew up with, and my favorite design-wise.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Hmmm... Aurora Mist, Seaspray, Swirly Whirly. They tend to change, though.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
Doing this for my parents since I'm 14. :p They're nice about it, they actually seem to think it's cool.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
My mom took me to Toys r Us when the G3 line first came out... or maybe it was on my 5th birthday, after it had been out for a while. I chose the Cotton Candy Cafe and Strawberry Swirl, because I liked white horses. I loved pastels and always preferred animal toys to barbies, so naturally I liked ponies. When I was about 10 people stopped giving me ponies, and I was sort of bored with them anyway, I guess. Then when I was 12 and FiM became popular I got some G4s at target and found some of my old G3s. When I was 13 I starting collecting.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Probably the G1 Baby Blossom pose or the G3 Sweet Breeze pose.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks.
1. mold, 2. hair that's cut almost completely off, 3. symbol/eye wear.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I watch FiM. I think I actually prefer MLP Tales.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
No, and I don't really have any desire to.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
I think I'll probably still have my ponies. I don't know if I'll still be actively collecting. Maybe! :winkpony:

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
100+

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1, but G2 is close

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
By Generation: Locket, Clever Clover, Sweetie Belle, Fluttershy

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
My husband thinks they are a little childish and is disturbed when I have ponies taken apart or wrapped up in things when I do cleaning and restoration. But, he knows they are a source of joy and does go out of his way sometimes regarding them too.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
My dad bought me Locket when I was little and I was hooked from them on.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
G1 Bowtie pose

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
I'm more picky about condition depending on the generation and pony. But generally:
1.Pony free of irreversible or severe damage, mold, pony cancer 2. Symbols mostly clear, I don't mind little scratches 3. Factory curls if applicable. Hair is rust free or not badly faded, though I will clean and re-dye it. If the hair is cut or brittle I can easily replace that as well.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
Both.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
Nope.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I'm fairly certain I'll always have ponies. The size of my collection will vary I'm sure as I already downsized a lot a few years ago. I have and plan on passing down some of my ponies too.

1. Around 300, this is not including the bin of duplicates.
2. the original, don't like anything else.
3. Gusty. She was my first.
4. My mum isn't in to them, but she thinks they are a harmless collection. Even bought them in the past.
5. I've been interested since I was little, collecting since I was around thirteen. They are happy things. I like happy things.
6. I don't have one really. I have a least favourite one. The unicorn looking up. It was very hard to make her have conversations with others.
7. um...I guess "is she a g1? Is she one I want? Is she in one piece? aka I don't really care too much about condition.
8. I watched the original show. Everything else is terrible so I just collect now.
9. nope, nope I don't.
10. I might not still be collecting, but I will still have them.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
Holey Moley.. I don't know..Probably somewhere near 1000? I have so many G1 I can't put them all up, a huge tote of G3, a box of G2.. a couple 3.5.. and a few G4.

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
G1 hands down.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Oh wow.. I love so many of them. Top 3? *(I choose ones I own) Umm.. Rosette, Nightglider and Surprise.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
My sweetie isn't really into it.. but he's completely supportive.. even though he has almost no "dude space" in the house. He even keeps an eye out for them when we are out.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
I have some from when I was a kid, but I have almost always collected *something*. I started collecting ponies again about 6 years ago. I found a G1 Tuneful in a thrift store and that was it! PONY BOOM!

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
I think Nightglider post is my fave! So proud looking!

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
If it's cheap and G1, I wants it, my precious...(if I don't have it already) If it's something I'm paying money for..Hmm.. , No body damage, decent symbols, not too much of a haircut.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I watched the first season of FIM and some of the old G1 stuff. I'm more into the toys though.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
I've had MLP hair.. but not to be like MLP.. just because I love bright colored hair. It used to be magenta and purple. It's just bright red at the moment. (Though the BF is rocking some beautiful jet black hair with blue and purple on top.)
10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
Who knows. I'll probably still have them all, unless I need to sell them for money.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

And..........GO!

1 - I have about 275 ponies

2 - Gen 4 is my fave, closely followed by Gen 1

3 - Rarity (g4), Baby Moondancer (G1) and Pinkie Pie (G4)

4 - My fella, Ray, is quite supportive and has on occasion been known to surprise me with a pony or 2 :D

5 - I was messing about on You tube and came across the Winter wrap up episode of MLP FiM. I watched it and was instantly hooked!!

6 - Shy pose (G1 Parasol/AppleJack etc) or the Baby Ember/Baby Lemondrop pose

7 - #1 Nice uncut hair, #2 clear symbols, #3 no major chew marks

8 - I do watch the FiM shows, I have also seen the G1 shows/movies

9 - I do not have any tattoo's pony or otherwise. I did have pink hair for a while, but that was before I was into ponies

10 - I hope to be still collecting MLP. I have only been really seriously collecting for a couple of years now, so by then, I hope to have mostly completed my collection, and focusing on nirvana's

Great questionnaire :satisfied:

My latest estimate is somewhere near 2000.

Ummm, I'm coming to your house, 'kay? Pony HEAVEN.

1. I think around 700.

2. G1 all the way!

3. Tough question. Right now I'm into Twinkler, Skylark and Sweet Pop though I will always love Springsong, who was my favourite as a child.

4. My husband is not into MLP at all. LOL, I kind of like it that way. He's supportive, but he's also more than happy to get my extras out of the house, haha.

5. From childhood. I can't remember a time without my ponies. I'm totally serious. I was like 1.5-2 years old when I got my first ponies.

6. Hmm. I really like Surprise's pose, Baby Firefly's and Baby Moondancer's.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

#1 What I term as 'unfixable' (at least for me). So that includes the head being a different colour than the body, any kind of permanent mark, mold that has discolored the pony, etc.
#2 The hair. Gah, frizzy hair. I don't like when it's cut, but I can deal with that more than the frizz.
#3 Paint, mechanisms and symbols.

8. Both.

9. Neither.

10. I've lasted this long, I think I can keep it up. :) They're a special part of my childhood.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)
I have exactly 47 regular size ponies (I don't count petites, that would make them 63) from all generations. That might sound like very few, but the truth is I don't think my fully realized collection will even surpass 100 by much. I only collect the ones I really like. :winkpony:

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?
I have to say G1, but mostly the latter half. Chalk that up to nostalgia and the fact I was born pretty late into it.

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?
Hard to say, they change all the time! Let's see... Wigwam and Patch have been mainstays for a while now, with G3 Minty, Paradise and Sparkle Baby Gusty competing for third place.

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?
I have a brother who likes FIM (he has G4 Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack. The latter is his favorite) and is pretty interested in the history of the franchise. He's not so much supportive of my collecting as he is jealous that, by norm, I can actually afford the stuff I get interested in (because it's relatively cheap), unlike him.
As for what we do together, well we talk about the franchise as a whole, like we do with Transformers and other franchises we're into. When I have ideas for stories I discuss them with him as well. You can tell we're pretty tight. :winkpony:

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?
Well, I've always liked ponies, but all I had as a kid in the early 90s were my Petites, and they felt like... Little. No pun intended. I went my whole childhood knowing MLP existed, but was unable to get into it until 2010, when FIM started and sparked my interest in the franchise once more. However, I can't say I started actively collecting until early 2012.
As for why... I don't know, really. I think it's the whole magical angle that draws people in. These are not just ponies you take care for in a stable (which was the original idea, oddly enough), they're people, much like you and me, in cute, colorful bodies that live in a fantastical world. Plus the whole friendship thing and all that talk about how they'll always be there for you in the best and worst times... Yeah, I think that sums it up nicely.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?
Again, hard to say, but Baby Glory's pose makes me all melty inside.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1
1. NO MOLD. I hate, hate, hate mold. Related to that is cancer. Mostly because nobody seems to agree whether it's contagious or not, and I don't want to take any chances.
2. I'd say uncut, soft silky hair. It's not that detrimental to a pony, i.e. if it's a pony I really want I'll look past it. It usually depends on the pony, though.
3. Ehh, symbols, I think? Again, it's not that much of a big deal.

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?
I watch FIM, but due to the disparities between the show and the toyline I mostly just watch it. I have some key characters I would like toys of, but don't think I'll be getting for a number of reasons.

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?
No way! I like ponies, but not to that extent! Plus I dyed my hair blonde once, and it was an experience I don't feel like repeating. It gets all dry and broken straw-like and I have to waste tons and of money on moisturizers and redoing the roots every now and then and I'm going off topic, I'm sorry. On the topic of tatoos, I just don't see any appeal to them in general, so yeah, no.

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?
Let's put it this way: in 10-20 years, I'll probably have gotten those 100-ish ponies I mentioned earlier and fully moved on to other interests of mine. However, I don't see myself selling the whole of my collection. I'll probably trim it so that only my clear favorites remain, but those I'll definitely be keeping for the foreseeable future.

I spent waaaay too much time writing this.

1. How many mlp ponies do you think you own (not including other merchandise like backpacks, clothes, watches, decor)? (approximately)

about 35ish...I had to stop buying since we're moving and wedding planning

2. What is your favorite generation of Pony toys?

G1 :smilepony:

3. Do you have ONE favorite pony, or at least a top 3 of all time?

Lemon Treats is my favorite gal!

4. A If you are married or living with or seriously dating a person who is not into MLP, what do they think of your hobby/collection? or B If you are with someone who also DOES like MLP, what do you do together and do you shop together or mix each other ponies or keep separate?

My fiance lovingly tolerates my pony obsession. He records the FiM episodes for me and will turn them on if I'm feeling blue. He gets a kick out of Pinkie Pie. He did admit that if the FiM characters made an album, he would probably listen to it.

5. How and when did you become interested/start collecting ponies? From childhood? And why/how/what interested you?

My cousins and I always had ponies from garage sales growing up. We spent hours playing together. All my ponies were given away as a teen, but FiM rekindled my love for MLP.

6. What is your favorite pony "pose"?

I have a lot of ponies in the Dancing Butterflies pose, but I like the pose of Baby Blossom the best.

7. List in order the 3 most important things you look for in purchasing a used pony when it comes to hair, eyes, symbols/cutie marks. For example, if nice uncut hair is your biggest want in used ponies, that's #1, or if mint symbols are most important, that would be #1

minimal markings/cancer, no haircuts, decent price/shipping price

8. Do you watch the show(s) (i.e. friendship is magic) or just collect, or both?

Both

9. Do you have any tattoos, or dyed hair to look like a pony, or anything like that, or want to?

I have neither, but I did consider having a pony tattoo. As a performer, there's just not a lot of places I could put it

10. Do you think in 10-20 years you'll still be collecting/owning or think you'll want to sell most or all of your ponies by then?

I'll be playing ponies with my someday children :winkpony:
