How come there's a fair pony on ebay already? the fair hasn't happened yet...

Won't post the link because of the tp's rules, but the seller's name is "toyslandco".

Probably for a future one when they're on sale by then.

but it says "On hand and ready to ship".

I asked ss if it's okay to post the link, because people might think I'm nuts if I don't. :)

It was discovered a few months ago that some fair ponies had been "liberated" from the Hasbro factory in China (or Hong Kong, or wherever) and were being sold, along with the new Comic Con pony. I don't know what the fair staff decided to do about it, as they have made no official comment that I've seen.

I saw those too. It is from Hong Kong, maybe they snagged some early. That seller has like 5 negative feedbacks just in the last month, tho. Lots of good feedback, but seeing as how most people try their darndest not to give bad feedback, 5 in a month seems like a lot.

ok thank you that explains it :)

It always seems like there are some that escape the factory. I'm sure they are ok and all, but I'll be waiting for an official release. lol.

Wow she sold for alot! I love her, but I am with the others I am waiting until the official release. If I don't get one then, I am sure someone will be selling theirs eventually...

Yeah why pay mega bucks now? that makes no sence... oh well - Escapy ponies made we laugh though.... them escaping out the factory to the great escape song lol then getting found and put on ebay lol

Well, one of this peacock pony and the two faced pony mde it all the way here to the east coast of Australia. They missed detection by the border patrol and therefore did not get locked up in a detention centre with the rest of the asylum seekers.
I feel kinda bad that they didn't come thru the conventions themselves, but I will still try to get the "real" ones but it is really difficult to get them over here in Australia. At least if I do eventually get them here they can stay in their boxes as I already have these loose ladies on the lam.
I might have to get them little ankle bracelets or microchipped so they don't get out again.
Seriously through, they both have very minor flaws so I think they were allowed to escape, but them again seeing the ones they do release from Hasbro as top grade I can't be sure. I sooooo didn't pay what that auction went to though - phew!
But they are both gorgeous gals, dodgy heritage and all. They should feel at home here in the land of the convicts!

The 3 negs in the last month are all from the same person over a shipping over charge. Otherwise they're fb is pretty good.

Do we know if its authentic? Is it possible that someone might have just made a few customs?

To let you all know...stealing from a manufacturing plant overseas (or anywhere really) is very easy. The ponies were most likely made months ago and like I said, can easily be stolen right from manufacturing before loaded into boxes or before being loaded into the shipping container. The people who make these things aren't getting paid very well (as much as you'd like to believe they do) so either they don't care and let people take some or take them themselves and sell them on the street, which ends up whoknowswhere.
Once that container is filled, an ID lock is put on the back of it to assure that it hasn't been opened after loading/locked. Doesn't mean it won't get cut off by customs and checked. Another place things could get stolen but usually doesn't. When a container arrives to a dock to get unloaded, again another chance to steal things from it. There's most likely NOT high security standing around making sure plastic ponies aren't stolen and well...workers may want to take some and try to make money from it.
Things would get stolen less if hasbro had the manufacturer stop labeling the shipping boxes with "my little pony". I'm not sure if the labels are on the boxes but I'm sure they are.

Ok so background info after all that. The company I work for recieves containers from china about once every 2 months. Sometimes other companies "share" our container to save on shipping cost for both parties. The things belonging to other companies we put on skids and ship to them. Could we steal things ? Easily! But we don't. Things could also easily be stolen before the container was loaded in China. We don't have the time to count their parts either before it leaves our place (part #'s being in the thousands). Trust me it's tempting...seeing stuff that will be sold on QVC or some sports equipment place or special dog feeding dishes, etc. Heck we've had missing parts too. It's usually not something to go crazy over though. It's probably the same as missing 10 ponies from a truckload of 100,000...

WOW I'm out of coffee

Mine are authentic, just seem to be flawed enough to be let go.
The peacock pony still has the plastic thingees in her hair. She also has a glob on the nds back leg.
Two-face had whacko hair (which I have tamed), but her line work is a bit feathered in places and she a a glob on her flame leg.
The appear not to have made it into a box, they must use higher quality control when they are being used for collectors. A picky collector would be furious if they got these two, but to me they show character, and will make sure I'm not tempted to open a boxed one!
I will still be trying to get the boxed ones from the events though. If anything it has made me more determined to try and get them.
And you're dead right Pikabubba, things diasapper from containers all the time (especially from China), but also the factories do release a few on the side to be sold prior to actual release (usually the seconds) to generate a "buzz" for the real release.

Yes they are definately authentic maybe not come accross in the most ideal of circumstances but definately genuine ;)

It's interesting because I have the 2 escapees as well and the paintwork seems fine no globs at all . . . maybe I got lucky? I'm a pretty fussy collector but I haven't ever had an exclusive pony before so I don't have anything to compare them too . . .

Oh well I'm more than happy to have these girls in my collection :D

Here's my lovely (she's already officially my fav G3 of all time!!!!) for people to look at her quality.
