2009 Target Holiday Ponies

Spotted a couple of ponies in the holiday aisles at Target today. There's a G4 Sweetie Belle with a scarf with snowglobe-like packaging, and a re-release of A Very Minty Christmas DVD with a Minty Ponyville toy (same as the advent calendar last year I think). Photos here.

(Sorry if this is a repeat, but I didn't find anything in a search. I'm totally obsessed with holiday ponies, so I've been on the lookout).
 
I haven't seen the DVD, but I saw Sweetie Belle last weekend. I hate the pose , but I like the packaging.
 
I've had Sweetie Belle for months now. I have no idea why they released her so so early! That's likely why you never saw a post. Oddly, the winter release in stores is old news. Very strange.

I never got that! I love Minty! and ponyvilles! and that movie omg!!!
 
I'm glad they released Minty because she's not BORE 7!
 
I just purchased Holiday Sweetie Belle a few weeks ago. I wished that there were more 2009 holiday ponies, though.:angel2:
 
Is it just me or do the G4s (I'm still getting used to G3 darnit!) sort of have bubble heads? As in heads too big for their bodies?

Must remember to look at new ponies next time I'm in a store...lol
 
I like to call our younger son G4 since his head is in the 97th percentile :p

I haven't seen anything other than the Sweetie belle :(
 
Is there a reason they can't leave the form of the overall pony alone? G1s and G3s looked like actual ponies. G2s looked like four legged lizards and now these G4s look like something that can't be taken seriously. Reminds me of the Ponyville ponies...

I'm not against them doing a side thing, but doing it to the main line of ponies??? :frown:

I can only speak for myself when I say that I'm more inclined to buy ponies that look like ponies. I'm not very thrilled with the extremely large eyes and heads. For some reason I really don't find them cute. Perhaps its the Vet tech in me, since I find normal ponies/horses cute enough!

*Although the babies of G1 get me all the time!*
 
I actually bought my Winter Sweetie Belle from TRU back in late August...early September. I don't know why they were put out so early, But I'm not complaining :D I loved the snowflake barettes & couldn't help myself!

wow I didn't know we were calling these G4s. It makes sense, I guess. I was excited for G4 but I HATE HATE HATE how they look now... :( the least they could do is change core 7. Is it really that hard to pick seven new ponies? They already have over 400. they don't even have to go to the effort of making new ones up.

*sigh...*

ROTFL!! My nephew's head is also in the 97th percentile & his mom is a Ponyphile...I sense a new nickname coming his way ;)
 
I'm still not totally sold on the 'Alien Ponies' (as I call the G3.5s), and I really didn't intend on getting more than one of each character, but I must say her snowglobe packaging and accessories are cute!

I saw those too at my target yesterday. I was kinda tempted since they are the older ponyville. So you remember who was included.... I can't right now.
 
I think the new MLP's are a pony version of the powerpuff girls (big head, little body)


Not dissing the PPG's though.........just dont look like ponies
